Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am so looking forward to retiring from my full time job as a nurse so I can spend more time recording photos and grave sites on Find A Grave. Now I work my 8 hours, take my camera and go to one of the local cemteries after that. There are four in our area that have vast numbers of graves that are not recorded here. After a hard day of work, I find it so peaceful and tranquil just wandering around in the cemtery and I find that I am still helping people just in a different way .
My pet peeve is one of the cemeteries about 10 miles away is huge and so full of info just begging to be recorded but the cemetery is huge and is almost impossible to do photo request there because the people in the office won't do look ups unless you are a family member . They have nothing on computers , everything has to be looked up on index cards. then they want to drive you out to the grave site and then complain about taking time from there office. I aksed why they don't hire someone part time just to do the lookups.. I think that would be a "dream job". But they don't want to do that. So far now I am just taking one day at a time and whittling away as many as I can when I can, and just happy to be helping others find there loved ones resting place.

Thank you for your reply.
I sent a message to Findagrave that they should update the search facility to ignore dots (full stops).
The memorials all had different numbers (last 2 digits), so how did you delete them all in one go?
Anyway, I now wonder how many other duplicate memorials exist because of same problem: with and without dot.

Thank you very much for posting the memorial for Iva Gill Penn in the Galveston Memorial Park. I have been looking for this aunt of my grandfather's since 1976 when I was 12! Finally, she is no longer a missing person!

Thank You
Pat, Thank you so much for all you do with find a grave. Without the good volunteers such as yourself, many family members would be lost. It was because of you, that I learned about this website and have been able to locate family members. Thank you for posting the pictures of my family. And thank you for being such a good friend since childhood. You are awesome!

Nettie Smith # 100496134
Hi, Patricia!

I feel the same as YOU! Can't WAIT til I retire and can DO MORE! :)

Hey - you had noted on this particular Nettie Smith's memorial you established that the lot was owned by B. F. Smith.

I've been searching for a child of my great grandfather's who was named Nettie Smith who was born about 1908 and I haven't been able to find any further information on her. My Great Grandfather's name was Benjamin Franklin Smith.

I'm wondering if this is "my Nettie". Do you know if there is any further information on the owner of this lot?

I hope this is not the cemetery you mentioned in your profile. I understand your frustration!! :)

Just curious if you knew more...most everyone in this family is buried in Collin County, Texas would be odd for Nettie to be buried in galveston...but, not impossible, right? :)

Please let me know.

Most Sincerely,

j* (Judith L. Newman - Mesquite, TX)
