I don't think I have thanked you for the beautiful, clear picture of my Great Grandfather's headstone. It looks so much better than the previous picture. You must have used granite cleaner and polish on it.

Thank you,
Mary Lee

Dear Valerie,

Thank you for all the incredible work you do here on findagrave to remember those who have passed, and especially all the research you do before adding memorials. You are amazing!

Thank you for transferring Leon "Patty"' and Elizabeth Rothchild to my care.

God Bless,
M W Bencal

Reuben S. Mapes #120047707
I sent you an edit for Reuben's place of birth, on his death certificate it says he was born in Allen county, Indiana, but on all census records he is listed as being born in Wisconsin. His parents, Benjamin and Adaline Mapes were living in Bad Ax county, Wisconsin (now Vernon county) in 1860 and in Allen county, IN, from 1870 to 1880.

Hi Valerie,

I am feeling bad. I should have explained that the reason I suggested you can add in the bios that I sent you the information, was in the event a Rothschild family researcher came along and wanted to know how you knew that Leon and Patty were the same person, etc. That way the researcher could be easily directed to me. I have seen this done before, and I thought it was a good idea. I am so sorry I did not explain this to you in my earlier l o n g email.

I would absolutely love for you to transfer the Rothschild Memorials to my care!

I am descended from the Rothschild family who first settled in Sien Germany in 1760. These Rothschild's include the Rothshcild's you so lovingly memorialized. Unfortunately, my Rothschild's are not the wealthy Rothschild bankers from Frankfurt Germany. :-)

In 1808 Napoleon decreed the Jews under his rule take on permanent last names. My 5th great-grandfather, Joseph Loeb (Joseph son of Loeb), took the name Joseph Rothschild.

My direct line emigrated to the USA in the mid 1800s. Sadly, some of the family remained in Germany and perished in the Holocaust. Some of the family remained Jewish after coming to the USA, many did not.

As you can see by this email, I absolutely LOVE genealogy!

Thank you again for all that you do to remember those who have passed.

God Bless,
M W Bencal

Leon "Patty" Rothchild #87057981 & Elizabeth Winkler Rothchild # 87058150
Hi Valerie,

I cannot believe it has been so long since I first emailed you about Leon "Patty" Rothchild (Rothschild) #87057981 & Elizabeth "Lizzie" Winkler Rothchild (Rothschild) #87058150.

Gosh! What a confusing couple! Leon "Patty" Rothchild (Rothschild) was my 3rd cousin 3 times removed.

I went to the edit tab on both Leon and Lizzie to add information to their memorials, and to link Leon to his father, Moses Rothschild.

I am not sure how Leon ended up being called Patty, but apparently he was.

If you would like me to email the documents I found that verify the changes I made in the edit tab for both Leon and Elizabeth, please let me know. I have saved them to my tree to help others if they do research on them.

If you want, you can put in the bios that the information sent to you was M W Bencal.

Thank you for all the work you did on this family group and for all that you do to remember those who have passed.

God Bless,
M W Bencal

By the way, you have a Carender and a Sullens in your list, which are related to my husband. He is descended from both those surnames -- the Carender on his maternal side and the Sullens on his paternal. I have biographies on both on our genealogy blog (linked into my profile page) and my history nut of Missouri blog.

Question abt. Virtual Cemetery
Hi! I was curious to know how many of the people you have in your Civil War virtual cemetery were here during the Border War?

John Tolly
Hi! My 3rd great-grandfather, Martin White's name is on this document along with a John Tolly. Martin's son, William George White married a Mary Tolly White Cochran from Shelby County, IL. I was curious to know if this is the John Tolly that is in this document from Lykins/Miami County, KS. Do you know? Martin & his family left Lykins/Miami County, KS and settled near Spruce, Mo. in Bates County, Mo.
