I became interested in genealogy and finding my roots many years ago. In 2005, I began working for a company that has several cemeteries located near it. Weather permitting, I started going out during my lunch hour and visiting these cemeteries and taking pictures. I then discovered the MI Tombstone Project were I could upload my photos and help others locate their ancestors. |
I've been trying to add my photos onto Find-A-Grave but it is a longer process trying to upload to two different sites. I have faith that I will eventually get it done. Somewhere along the way I also became Michigan's Ingham County Keeper for Find A Grave. If you find one of my photos on MI Tombstone Project, please let me know and I will upload it to FAG.
If you happen to stumble upon any Vance, Kaloz, Torok, Meehan, Cosgriff, Quinlans, Davarns, McVeigh I'd love to hear from you.
Note: If you find a photo that I took click on that photo and you will see my notes. Sometimes you'll get lucky and find other ancestors that you didn't know about based on my comments.
Please read the Help with Find A Grave link before requesting transers. I'm pretty good about fulfilling requests outside of the "direct relatives within four generations" rule. I believe the memorials are in better hands with family and/or a descendant than with myself that is a stranger to the family history. Plus, I have discovered that it is easier for "living" relatives to find you if you are the manager of the memorial. However, if you demand the request versus asking politely and if you don't state your relationship you will not receive the memorial.

Thanks so much for transferring Oliver Booth and his daughter Susan Booth to me to manage.
Would you mind also transferring Mary Booth. She was Oliver Booth's wife.
In case you're interested, here is my line from Oliver and Mary: Oliver Booth and Mary (Green) Booth >> Sylvia (Booth) Allen and Henry Allen >> William H. Allen and Cordelia Jane (Satterlee) Allen >> Jennie May (Allen) Withee and Levi Withee >> George Allen Withee and Ruth (Mast) Withee >> George Allen Withee Jr. and my mom (living)>> me.

|J. Wilzer||Wilzer /Paluch Transfer|
I messaged you a moment ago on your personal email, and was unsure if I should have used this instead. Thank you for the work you have done on this site. It has brought myself, and I'm sure countless others great joy to see our loved and missed family members on Find A Grave. I would be honored, if you would transfer Jessie Bickel Wilzer #44728584 (my grandmother) and Christine Paluch #44728607 (Jessie's eldest child, my Aunt Chris) to me.
Thank You again, J. Wilzer
I think I got the numbers wrong. Oliver Booth is my fourth great-grandfather not my third so I don't actually have rights to his memorial. That said, I'm actively researching him, his wife Mary, and his line so if you would be willing to transfer management of it to me, I'd be honored to accept it.

Hi Terri, Certainly all the documents indicate Hiram died at Fort Leavenworth. Since the cemetery has over 21,000 burials and covers massive acreage, I think it's only fair to the volunteer photographers that the memorial indicate the section and site numbers. Would you consider calling Fort Leavenworth National Cemetery to ask them for grave location and then include it on the memorial when you request a photo? Your thoughts? Mary Ann

Okay, I'm that I didn't notice that my bad. Thank your response and I'll make sure the request is no longer up. Again thank you. :)
|RhondaPIersonRussell||Thank you, Terri!|
Hi! Because of the photographs you took, and the information provided, I was able to figure out the identity of my great-grandmother's parents! Thank you! I am so very, very grateful!
I live in Sanford, Michigan. If you need me to take a photo of a headstone in our town, please let me know, and I will do so. I know how much I appreciate having my great-great grandparents' information from their graves, and I would be pleased to help with this worthy endeavor.
