One of my Wray ancestors gave the broach in my photo to his bride-to-be. If you know anything about antique jewelry and can tell me how old it is I would GREATLY APPRECIATE IT! |

The Dash Poem, by Linda Ellis
I read of a man who stood to speak
At the funeral of a friend
He referred to the dates on her tombstone
From the beginning to the end
He noted that first came the date of her birth
And spoke the following date with tears,
But he said what mattered most of all
Was the dash between those years
For that dash represents all the time
That she spent alive on earth.
And now only those who loved her
Know what that little line is worth.
For it matters not how much we own;
The cars, the house, the cash,
What matters is how we live and love
And how we spend our dash.
So think about this long and hard.
Are there things you'd like to change?
For you never know how much time is left,
That can still be rearranged.
If we could just slow down enough
To consider what's true and real
And always try to understand
The way other people feel.
And be less quick to anger,
And show appreciation more
And love the people in our lives
Like we've never loved before.
If we treat each other with respect,
And more often wear a smile
Remembering that this special dash
Might only last a little while.
So, when your eulogy is being read
With your life's actions to rehash
Would you be proud of the things they say
About how you spent your dash.

Beverly, thank you for the work you've done Find A Grave. My family are the Edwards and Hurleys in Wedowee Mount Plesant. I just found out about them in July 2013 and I have been hooked every since trying to find out more about them. My husband and I took our vacation in May of this year just so I could make the trip to Wedowee and this little cemetery. Yeah my kids think ive lost it lol.... there is something about standing at the gravesite of your 2x gr grandmother that brings everything you know to life. My gr grandmother mother was Sallie Hurley Edwards and she died when my gr grandmother was only 3. My aunt told me that she mourned for her all of her life. My 2x gr grandfather moved the family to Oklahoma in 1900 or so . As far as I know I may have been the only family member to come baack. So this makes all the work volunteers do for Find A Grave so priceless and valuable, thank you again Kayla Davidson

I would like to add some pictures of my own to James Tulley's Find A Grave site! Would you mind removing the photo of the grave and of James Tulley that is on the site already? I have a picture that I would like to use instead. His number is 65971546. I really appreciate it!

I am managing my mother's find a grave site and would appreciate it so much if you would remove the picture of the grave marker so that I can post pictures of my mother. Thank you so much for the work you do!

Beverly, I wanted to let you know that I posted pictures of grave markers for the memorials of Solomon W Holloway and his first wife Margaret Miles Holloway. I commissioned the markers this summer and they were placed by a cousin last weekend.
Thanks so much for posting Mom's photo. This was taken at my daughter's wedding.
|Jennifer Green||Eliza Catherine Sanderson Summerford|
On an earlier email, I told you some information that is probably wrong. Eliza Catherine Sanderson Summerford's parents are Daniel S. Sanderson and Patience ??? b. 1819 m. Abt. 1839 in Limestone Co., AL d. Abt 1848 in Marion Co., AL The first email stated that Eliza's mother was by Daniels 2nd wife Martha J. Stinnet. I'm afraid that this is wrong. I'm so sorry for the mix up.
Eliza's siblings by Patience and Daniel are:
John Marion Sanderson (1840)
Jasper M. Sanderson (1841)
James M. Sanderson (1846)
George Washington Sanderson (1848)
There are several half-siblings by Daniels other wives.
Thank you so much for the valuable service you do. Without this record, many of us would be lost on finding information on our families.
|Annette Allen Edwards||Thank you.|
