Forty some years ago I served in Vietnam and for whatever reason I now feel compelled to find photographs of all 400 men in my unit that were "killed in action". I still have about 39 men to locate and bring back home. We need not only to remember their names but also never forget their faces. If you are interested in these men and the unit in which they served then you can click on the link below:|

I see that you have requested a picture of Sam's headstone/marker. Although I am not claiming your request, I wanted to forward you information on where you can get his obituary.
sam's obituary was in The Huntsville Times, published: Tuesday, February 27, 1968, page 14, column 5.
You can request a copy from our local library at this address -
You never know, it might have a bit of information in it that you might have not known.
Good luck with your search,
|Janice||RE: Terrence Scott|
Glad to be a part of your important work to remember them and bring them all back together virtually.

I know you have some info on George Rogers buried in the Gettysburg National Cemetery. I am continuing my research on the burials here, and found that his brother, Stephen C. Rogers, is buried here also, a few feet away, in the same section. He was an SP 4 in Co. C, 22nd Infantry, 4th Division in the Army. I can't seem to find anything more on him: Where he died, etc. It says he died from wounds or an injury while on active duty. All I have for a resource is Ancestry.com. Maybe you could find more info on him? All I found I have posted on his memorial page.

I'm so glad I could help. I'm up in WV visiting my grandma and she remembered going to Terry's funeral. My father was also in Vietnam and both my parents served in the Air Force so I have a lot of respect for veterans. When I saw your note on the request, I made sure it was a priority while on my trip up here. I'm so happy I could help out and I wish you luck with your project.

Thanks for the note. I will check it out!
|Sue Seeterlin Rice||Your great work|
I want to acknowledge ALL of your dedication and hard work putting together the guys from your unit in Vietnam. I too am working on the 397 guys who never came home who served in the 1st Cav 8th Cav Div.

Is there a problem with the photo already present (since 2013)?

Yes, he was river patrol boats. I will tell him about the website you refer to.

That is all the information I have. It came for the volunteered survey of Sunny Lane cemetery. You might try the SSDI or the Find a Military Grave website at http://findgrave.org/.
My husband was in Vietnam too. He was Brown Water Navy - 70, 71 & 72. Thank you for your service and welcome home!

David, I am glad I can help out. I didn't know of the war in Vietnam till i was in high school, which was in the early '80's. Keep up the great work you are doing for these soldiers that didn't make it back home. There are two memorials for Richard. I put the same photo for both.
