Genealogy begins as an interest,|
Becomes a hobby;
Continues as an avocation,
Takes over as an obsession,
And in its last stages,
Is an incurable disease.
I am working on the surnames of Ramsey (New York), Hayden/Franklin/Clark/Edgerly (Maine), and Haulk (Kentucky/Indiana). I live in NH and found this website during the summer of 2012. I enjoy working on my own genealogy, as well as helping out others with photos of their family/ancestors!
I'm currently working on adding memorials with photos to the Luzerne Cemetery in Luzerne, NY. I took over 2,000 photos last summer and most names are not listed as of yet. This is a time consuming task as I'm trying to link family as I go. I feel a strong connection with this cemetery, as I have many family members buried here.
You may use any of the photographs I have taken for your own personal genealogy work and for Ancestry.com trees with the credit of "Photo courtesy of StephanieH - Find A Grave Member #47869375."
Photographs may not be used for publications to be sold without permission.
My favorite poem...
"Your tombstone stands among the rest
Neglected and alone
The name and date are chiseled out
On polished marble stone
It reaches out to all who care
It is too late to mourn
You did not know that I exist
You died and I was born
Yet each of us are cells of you
In flesh and blood and bone
Our blood contracts and beats a pulse
Entirely not our own
Dear Ancestor, the place you filled
One hundred years ago
Spreads out among the ones you left
Who would have loved you so
I wonder how you lived and loved
I wonder if you knew
That someday I would find this spot
And come to visit you."

Thank you for the beautiful photos of the headstones of Walter and Hannah Foss. This is very helpful for those of us researching our Foss family roots.
Your efforts are greatly appreciated.

|Dorothy Willis||RE: Tombstones of James and Mary Woodell|
I really appreciate your work. It was very kind of you to take a photo which included both stones. Not everyone would have thought of that.
It is interesting to see how few days there were between their deaths. It reminds me of the old epitaph "HE first deceased; she for a little tried To live without him, liked it not, and died." 1869 had been a bad year for them anyway. Their son George was murdered in January by his insane nephew. It must have been a terrible shock.
Thank you for the wonderful pictures. I did get your message to delete the dup memorial on Find A Grave. However, while I maintain the memorial, I did not create it. Only the person who created the original memorial can delete it. I did submit a delete request for the dup memorial with the middle initial error, but we will have to wait for the creator of that memorials response. Thank you.

Thank you so much for the photos! James and Mary Woodell are my great-great-great grandparents. I live in California and have only visited this cemetery once. My time was limited and I couldn't find their graves to take a picture for myself, which makes me even more grateful for your help.
