Bio and Links
Bio Photo Will do updates and transfers of non-relatives. Or to a closer relative.

A certain contributor on here refuses to do updates or links or transfers (probably for everyone). He "owns" my great grandfather White,my gg grandfather Lavely, my aunt , my uncle, two of my great aunts and great uncles, my gg grandfather and gg grandmother Lavely, my ggg grandmother Lavely and many Lavely (ggg aunts and uncles, etc)distant relatives.

I want to update them and link them into trees. For some unknown reason he is mean and nasty and hateful and refuses to do any updates or links or transfers (even within guidelines).

I have contacted findagrave and no one replies, so I guess they don't care. The rules regarding keeping other people's relatives and not doing updates or links or transfer...are only meant for a certain few, I guess...

I don't think it is right for people to be able to OWN other people's relatives on here and refuse to do updates, links and transfers and get away with it. I am very sad that I cannot link on many relatives onto my grave tree because of this man. He has disabled his messages so no one can post what he is doing. This isn't right either. This is the only page where I can say what is very upsetting to me. I have left his nasty messages on here, to show what type of person he is.

If any merges are done by findagrave with duplicates to do links and updates that get around him, he unlinks all of the links and deletes the updates that were made after he gets the merged tree in his possession.

Please, if you have problems with this man, report his behavior to edit@findagrave.com and info@findagrave.com. I don't know if it will help or not. It didn't help me.

Read his latest rant/threat on his homepage if he has collected your ancestors too and done similar actions towards you..The fact that he is allowed to threaten people on their message page, in emails and on his own main page (veiled threats there) is troubling that FAG allows this.

I would suggest anyone having trouble getting transfers or links or updates keep track of them by making 2 virtual graveyards "pending updates, links and transfers" and "owners who refuse to do updates, links and transfers" and put the memorials in those virtual cemeteries that fit each category.

Some owners now are saying updates are approved and done and then doing NOTHING. You have to check back and see if they actually did anything or if just trying to fool you.

I don't understand why people refuse to do updates and links or transfers of people who are not on their family tree, but complete strangers and yet findagrave will not let anyone make duplicates to get around these obstructions. The search engine is dismal for finding anyone without the links to trees. Linking people can only improve the site. We do the work for free. Is it too much to ask for people to cooperate? Or for findagrave to find a way for us to be able to make updates and links and stop these people from refusing.

(Note- FAG finally gave me a transfer of my great grandfather White, but this man still owns many of my relative and people on my tree that I want to update and link up...a whole graveyard full of Lavelys for one thing that he de-linked a grave tree that I spent weeks making after a FAG merge).

Alexander White
Donna, Thank you. I think I found the source of the confusion. The pdf booklet "West Virginia's White Family" available on the FamilySearch website is written as follows:
Fourth Generation: Alexander White II, born 1752 in New Jersey, died 1814 in W VA; married (1) Marry Clifford on 25 Jan 1769 in Sussex Co, NJ; migrated to Hardy Co., about 1780; she died ca. 1815; m (2) Mary Beavers, 3rd of 13 children of Joseph & Ann Clifford Beavers...
Children of Alexander II & Mary Clifford/Beavers, annotated: Then lists 12 children. The last one was born 1804 and Their son George Beavers White was born 13 Oct 1788. As you know it was very make the middle name of one of the children the mother's maiden name.

I think Alexander was married just once to Mary Clifford Beavers 3rd of 13 children of Joseph and Ann Clifford Beavers. It is the only thing that truly makes sense

There is useful information in this booklet but it was put together haphazardly. The author dumped marriage bond records into the book that didn't apply to anyone. Which makes the confusion understandable. So I believe you have the name correct in your memorial.

RE: Re: st. Marys and Dena Schwarz
Hi Donna,
There is no cemetery on west 150th Street. There is Holy Cross Cemetery on Brookpark Rd. In Brook Park, Ohio.
This is also the cemetery that holds most records for other Catholic cemeteries on the west side of Clevleand.

They are the ones that checked the cemetery where her husband is buried at Saint Mary Cemetery on Clark Avenue & West 41st Street, Cleveland, Ohio.

From your links I see that a couple of her children are buried at Holy Cross, I can call again and have them check there.

They also checked a very small cemetery they hold the records for called Assumption of Mary also on Brookpark Rd. In Brook Park.

I still think she is probably at the Saint Mary Cemetery on Clark & West 41st in Cleveland and the records have not yet been restored or found since the fire years ago. They may never be found.

Also Nickles Funeral Home is a very old one in Cleveland. If there was a burial from there in 1916 at Saint Mary Cemetery it would have been the same cemetery as her husband.

I'll see what else I can find and I will let you know.

RE: Harry Weaver
Between a couple of cousins and I we have a lot of this particular Weaver family. If you have names/dob, please feel free to send me an email to my macmadam@mac.com and I'll check to see if I have them - or can consult with my cousins too. Many of our Weavers came from Ritchie Co. and neighboring counties, WV - then on into OH.
As for this my G. Uncle Harry, he was md 2x. Of course his Stalnaker middle name comes from his Mom. He md Sue Jones - don't have any info on her or their marriage, but they had 3 children together, thus the step info that shows under Margaret. I don't yet find a marriage cert/info for he and Margaret either, but don't think they had any children together.

Thanks,
-Jeanne

Hi Donna, I am very confused by this person's name. In a booklet titled "West Virginia's White Family Alexander White b. 1752 was married twice. 1st to Mary Clifford on 25 Jan 1769 in Sussex, NJ. She died ca. 1815. Then Alexander married 2nd Mary Beavers, 3rd of 13 children of Joseph & Ann Clifford Beavers. The heading for the children reads "Children of Alexander II & Mary Clifford/Beavers, annotated:" The author then lists 12 children and all of their births are prior to the death of Mary Clifford. As a member of Ancestry I am seeing the wife of this Alexander White to be Mary Clifford or as you have Mary Clifford Beavers. This could be an error in this booklet because one of the children's name is George Beavers White and his dob is within the time of Mary Clifford, which seems odd. Did Alexander marry once to Mary Clifford Beavers daughter of Joseph and Ann Clifford Beavers which makes more sense than the alternative to being married twice to Mary Clifford and Mary Beavers.

Thanks for the links, they have been added and appreciated.
I too had problems with asking people to add information and links, and being ignored. I contacted Find A Grave with requests so many times stating this person would not update (I'm talking about 3 years of requests). They either got sick of me, or found her to be an inactive contributor...and one day I had almost 200 of her military memorials, sent to me to maintain. I wonder how many of these wonderful people who have put time and effort into memorials, have passed on, or been sent to rest homes, and their family never bothers to let Find A Grave know, or could care less....I don't think most people who put their heart and soul into this, would ignore or be uncaring to help others.
I would like to think there is a good reason, rather then someone being a jerk...but Lord knows there are jerks in this world.

hang in there
Donna, You do a great job on here. Don't get frustrated. Personnally, I believe that if one doesn't have the time to fulfill the requests that are sent, he or she has too many memorials. I have added mine one at a time and will keep going until I don't have time for the updates. I love doing them so I don't see that happening. Hang in there. I know that we aren't supposed to do it but maybe you could create a duplicate here or there. That way you could do your links.
