I started researching back in the mid 1960's along with my mother. With the availability of the computer, software and internet I took her 350 names on my father's side and added her so-called "little & secretive family." Over 7,000 names now and growing daily.|

|Barbara||RE: Duplication of memorial|
Thank you for your informative reply. It has certainly been a learning process for me. The Cenotaph designation is a good one as it does link a soldier to his home area. I am indeed familiar with the linking process and have put it to good use already for linking family members together.

|Barbara||RE: Duplication of memorial|
Thank you very much for pointing out the duplication. I have deleted my memorial. It was very kind of you to inform me of this duplication.
Now, I do have procedural question. It appears that you created memorial #134759915 when there was already a memorial #12072127. These two memorials are for Roy Spicer killed in 1916. Is it correct procedure to create two memorials or is it better to put a note on the first memorial about a second memorial in the home country (for soldiers of WWI for example)? I know that there are more than one memorial for many of the Canadian soldiers killed in both world wars and in Korea. I need advice on this matter myself.
Again, thank you very much for your helpful information.

I would love to manage both arthur and elizabeth. They are the first of my ancestors in that branch to set foot in the New World. Thanks for the offer!

Gosh, I don't know where my brains were last night. Not sure why I didn't connect you on findagrave group with your profile on here! Thank you for transferring the 2 memorials to me. I didn't request it before because I assumed that Victor was your relative.

Thank you. I would very much appreciate it if you would transfer Edward Birks and Mary Alder Birks and Thomas Birks and Elizabeth Alder Birks to me.

|Barbara||Photos of Gravestones for Birks Family, Maynard Cemetery|
Would you mind if I added photos for the following buried in Maynard Cemetery:
Edward Bromhill Birks
Mary (Alder) Birks
Elizabeth (Alder) Birks
I am directly descended from George Aldar and his wife Mary (Wilson) Aldar which explains my interest in this part of my extended family. Thank you for your consideration of this request. George and Mary were the first generation in Canada and, according to their tombstones, their name was spelled ALDAR. On the other hand, the children of these two spelled their name ALDER.

|Barbara||RE: Re your edit for Abigail Perrin Scott|
Thank you very much for clarifying the rules. I will have another look at the tombstone to look at the spelling used. I am sure you are right.

Thank you for the edit. However, I must decline to accept your changes because the information on birth and death were taken from her obituary which can be read on my public tree on www.ancestry.ca. The tree name is "Early Pioneer Families of Augusta Twp....."
Thanks again for contributing.

Your Welcome. I was just glad that it was so easy to find. It was right next to my Grandmother's stone. :)
