Bio and Links
Bio Photo I have been researching my family tree for over 40 years now and find them all over the United States, but primarily in Pennsylvania, New York, Maryland, Virginia and North Carolina. As a few of the lines moved westward, I have followed their trails and have discovered many wonderful ancestors.

Upon my retirement and move to North Carolina, I now have time to volunteer to take tombstone photos and help others.

Please feel free to use any photos I post, all I ask is that you give me credit for doing so.

RE: George & Rachel Cook
Hopefully I will photograph some more of the family while out doing additional cemeteries. Glad you could use it.

RE: Ivey Leaf Cemetery
We may be talking about 2 of the exact same Cemeteries. I wasn't sure, so I created one based on Historical data found online. It states that the property originally belonged to the Ivey Family and was named in honor of Susan Ivey. I've never been there, so you would know about it then I would. Perhaps it's part of the Cemetery they combined??

RE: Deep Creek Baptist Church Cemetery Halifax Co, NC
Actually, buried there are two sisters of my gr-grandfather George Richard Gammon - Felicia and Mary Eliza, who married Strickland brothers. That is the part of Halifax County where many of my lines begin! I think the old church may have been taken down either in the 1950s or 1960s, because I was there in about 1969 and it was already gone.

RE: Deep Creek Baptist Church Cemetery Halifax Co, NC
It has been a long time since I was there - the church was torn down eons ago, and all that is left is an overgrown cemetery, so now is time to visit. It is mostly abandoned. Go to this web site to get the map for Halifax County:

Keep clicking on the black and white map of Halifax County that shows all the roads, until it is large enough to read. Scroll (or pull) it over towards the east, until you see the town of Scotland Neck. Just to the west of Scotland Neck, you will see a crossroads marked "Dunn's Store." As I recall, the cemetery is on the highway marked as 1103, that runs sort of southeast towards Roseneath. As you head from Dunn's store, it is on the left (northern) side. As I recall, some of the stones are very close to the road. so you should be able to see them. It has been a long time since I was there, so I hope my memory is working. It is definitely in that vicinity!

RE: Deep Creek Baptist church cemetery

Yes, I know where it is, just not sure I can give directions well enough to get you there...I will try...
Take 125 West out of Scotland Neck....about 3 miles out there is a road that bears to the left...I don't recall the will go thru at least 1 or 2 x roads not sure if it is the second or third is known as Dunn Cross road....I usually go by landmarks in the area.....the cemetery will be on the left up on a hill...the church is no longer there....if you know when you will be in the area I will be glad to meet you and lead you to it...I have wanted to go back for a while and just haven't done it....I live outside SN and know the area pretty well....

Link to Elizabeth Dillon
Hi, I am Ed Catterson and recently moved to Sharpsburg Md . In compiling our home genealogy my wife linked Elizabeth to her daughter, Maria Dillon Robinson Grove from information found on page 866 of the History of Washington County ebook. She is saddened that the mother and daughter are not linked, and especially the mother being alone with no known family. Thank you for your time and consideration. People who will devote time to helping make these connections should not go unappreciated. Sincerely, Ed Catterson

RE: Frankenberger Photos

You are welcome. Her footstone is next to the headstone of James L Boone, Find A Grave Memorial# 23527241. I don't know the relationship. Do you want any of the memorials transferred to you?--Storres

RE: Frankenberger Photos

You are welcome and thank you for acknowledging the photos. You made a photo request for Guy Stover Boone, Find A Grave Memorial# 37419311. I found what appears to be his second wife, Find A Grave Memorial# 139755404. If you have biographical information to contribute, I will transfer the memorial to you. The photos are not good because it is a difficult lighting situation. It is not close to home and the weather has been bad. The sun was not out for 14 consecutive days. I also uploaded new photos to the Samuel C Frankenberger memorials, Find A Grave Memorial# 38925874. A Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you too.--Storres
