Bio

I live in Columbiana County in Northeastern Ohio. Since I started my family history research, I have been amazed at the unknown family members I have found so close to my home. I want to honor them by adding them to this site. Thank you to all who place flowers on their memorials. I am a member of the Columbiana County and Mahoning County Chapters of the Ohio Genealogical Society.

Researching: Felger, Naughton, Stanyard, Miller, Bailey, Lind, Lynn/Linn, Sherry, Cranston, Forney, Stallsmith, Huch, Hull, Hauptmann, VanFossan/VanFossen, Stump, Strasser, Thoman, Summer(s), Baker, Hartje, & Rukenbrod (to name a few).

PLEASE, if you are going to require documentation for edit changes, provide a means of contact on your profile other than a public message or SAC. I can't post a death certificate or obituary to an SAC. Common sense?

PLEASE DO NOT USE MY PERSONAL PHOTOS. Any other use or republishing of them is not permitted. If you have an interest in someone, please email me. However, you may copy any headstone picture I've added for your own family tree use. The exception would be using my photos when creating a duplicated FindaGrave memorial. A notation that I was the photographer would be appreciated, if only to assist others who may want to contact me about family. I've received a lot of help in obtaining family headstone pictures from other researchers and want to pay it forward. Thank you.

Please check the cemetery before you make an entry to avoid duplications. I welcome any corrections to information I have entered. I try to be as accurate as possible, but sometimes receive conflicting information. Please don't be surprised, shocked, or outraged by an error. I'm human. PLEASE use the suggest a correction tab on the individual memorial. Changes won't be made from messages posted on this page. I cannot add children as links if I don't know where they are buried. Amazingly, I've been asked to do this.

I usually transfer out-of-guidelines unless it's someone in my family or the requester does not transfer their own entries in that manner. I have been asked to transfer memorials to contributors who are not closely related only to read in their bios that they strictly adhere to the transfer guidelines. DO NOT ASK FOR A TRANSFER OF ONE OF MY RELATIVES IF YOU STATE IN YOUR BIO THAT YOU WILL NOT TRANSFER YOURS. I will only transfer my family members according to the guidelines. I will not do mass transfers of a surname. Please remember...just because you are related to someone doesn't mean someone else isn't. Please see F-A-G guidelines regarding transfers. *"The goal is not to "own" every memorial of those to whom you are related. The ultimate goal should be to have meaningful, accurate memorials that honor those who have passed away, regardless of who created the memorial or who maintains it." It is not necessary to request a transfer in order to add information or links to family. I can do that.

I ask you to remember that the members of this site are volunteers, both for entries and photo requests. They spend time and money to do this out of a love of the past, to memorialize those who have gone before, and in remembrance of beloved family members. It is a collaborative effort that requires cooperation and teamwork. If you don't like to do these things, I respectfully ask that you choose another hobby.

Another contributor posted this: "I support a spirit of cooperation among the contributors to FindaGrave and appreciate the edits, additions and suggestions you make to the memorials I've posted. However, in that same spirit of cooperation, a simple suggestion or correction will do...I do not respond well to sarcasm, ridicule, shaming techniques, or anger. I am amazed that anyone on this site would use such behavior. A sense of humor goes a long way with me."

I found this on the profile of another contributor: A fellow by the name of Banksey is credited with a quote. What he said goes something like this: You die twice. Once when you stop breathing... and a second time... later on... when your name is said for the last time.

***Please remember this precious child and his family: Camden Fairchild.***

***Please remember this young man, a Fallen Graver, who loved what he did and helped many people: Coady Hatlen. He is missed.***

Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. Matthew 5:4

"Do not stand on my grave and weep,
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the mornings hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave & cry;
I am not there, I did not die."

~*~ONE FINAL GIFT~*~
Scatter me not to the restless winds
Nor toss my ashes to the sea.
Remember now those years gone by
When loving gifts I gave to thee.
Remember now the happy times
The family ties are shared.
Don't leave my resting place unmarked
As though you never cared.
Deny me not one final gift
For all who came to see.
A simple lasting proof that says
I loved and you loved me.
