Bio and Links
Bio Photo I've lived in Overton County for about 8 years, and it is the garden spot of the world! I'm active in groups that focus on history, preservation, with a special emphasis on the War for Southern Independence. Genealogy is just one of my passions where history is concerned. I'm a Confederate reenactor. And I love old graveyards!

Dunn Photo Request
Betty,

Next to the grave marker for William Larkin and Mary Dunn is a sandstone marking a grave. I feel fairly confident after searching the entire cemetery that this stone marks the grave of his first wife, Hulda or possible an infant. I posted a photograph of the sandstone marker, but I would suggest that you submit another request just by chance another volunteer is able to locate her marker in this or a nearby cemetery.

Thomas Voorhies
Hi, I noticed a picture you posted of the Thomas Voorhies family on Find A Grave in the Dabb Cemetery in Tennessee. Are you related to them? Any idea which one in the picture is Samuel Voorhies, Thomas's son?

Thank You!

Betty, I think we have too much information to exchange on "findagrave". I am the great grand daughter of Carrie V. Allen. She had my grandfather, Wm. A. Allen, Jr. ("AD"), and her youngest son was William Pirtle Allen. When I first started working this line I put on internet that she was married to Wm. Pirtle because that's what my aunt told me. (I've learned that lesson of taking relatives data as true,in my experience). I am a member of UDC and DAR, both of which I entered under Parks ancestors.

I have been to Rawlins cemetery and she is buried there. She has family in both cemeterys...Wheatland in Dallas, and Rawlins in Desoto. Her husband, Wm. Addison (BILL) Allen is buried in Mt. Olivet cemtery in Ft. Worth,TX..

I will acknowledge that her death cert. says she was buried in Wheatland. ?? But, I think I have photos of her tombstone somewhere. I'll have to double check. Catherine Parks widow of Rev. Soldier is buried in Rawlins...I might have them confused. My email address is donna1@vzinet.com
maybe we could exchange info easier through email. I would love to compare info with you more.
I volunteer at the Van Zandt Co., Genealogy Library in Canton, TX.

My grandfather William Addison (AD) Allen was never called a "junior"; but, he was named after his father.

My mother, Vivian Allen Waggoner is buried in Wheatland as well as many of my relatives. Infact, I too have a stone there. Would love to her from you by email...I can send some of my files by email, too. Donna Waggoner Carter

Betty,

You are welcome. Glad I could take it for you. I also took one of Mattie Worley and Joe Carrol Worley that were next to him. I knew you had asked about Mattie. I had to make a memorial for Joe.

You welcome. I truly know how you feel. When I get back over there I will take another picture of the inscription. I think I can enlarge it enough to see what it says.
