I have been an avid genealogist for over 30 years. I have researched my family in Letcher, Perry, Breathitt, Magoffin, Leslie, and Owsley counties. I have research on the Campbell, Couch, Dixon, Cornett, Feltner, Williams, Whitely, Haney, Gullet and others that came into my family as I researched. My husband and I are now attempting to photograph the cemeteries in our county. I will consider transfers within the four Generation "Find-a-grave" guideline that include: Spouses, Parents, Brothers and Sisters, Children, Grand-children, Grandparents. No transfers to aunts, uncles or cousins. If any of my memorials need to be edited, please contact me using the edit button. If you just send an e-mail to me, please mark it as Find-a-grave with the memorial number you are inquiring about or I will not open it. Thanks, Sandra|

Confirmed w/family that Jack Turner was the son of Isaiah Turner and Nannie Bell Scott of Harlan County, Kentucky. The marriage was at least a second one for both, as both had children from previous marriages. Marriage date c1907, I think. Thanks for putting me on the right track.

I suspect there were no markers. We had grandparents in similar circumstances. Grave markers were finally placed after 8 years. Do you know if anyone maintains a plat for this family cemetery? That's how we were able to place markers for our family members. I will check with the funeral home also.

RootsWeb has a listing of Turner Cemetery, Perry County, and they are on it. There were two Jack Turners I have found. The one I am researching is the son of John Turner and Fay H. Family distinctly knows Jack Turner and wife Barbara Ellen were buried side-by-side on a hillside overlooking the North Fork of the Kentucky river. The description of Turner Cemetery says it is located south of Cornettsville on the left side of Route 7. From the cemetery you can look across the North Fork of the Kentucky River.
I have the same parents for Barbara Ellen:
Barbara Ellen Williams
Born: 17 Feb 1946, Perry County, Kentucky
Father: James Monroe Williams (1918-1975)
Mother: Sally Ann Holbrook (1920-1982)
Married. Andrew Jack Turner (1947-1985)
Last lived: Jeff, Perry County, Kentucky 41751
Died: 17 Jul 1982, Fayette Co, Kentucky, of heat stroke
Barbara Ellen died the same year as her mother.
Husband Andrew Jack Turner outlived her by three years. There is a discrepancy in the records about Jack's DOB: 1926 or 1947. For DOB 1926, he would have been 59 when he died (which I think is correct, given the info I know from the family). If DOB is 1947, he would have only been about 38.
Verified family info is that the children were raised in Cornettsville, Perry County, although they may well have come from Harlan County. I will continue to look for additional documentation. Will ask the family for copies of vital records. Thanks for the prompt reply. -- LCJ

Doing some research on the family of Jack Turner (1926-1985) and Barbara Ellen (Williams) Turner (1947-1982), buried in Turner Cemetery, Perry County, Kentucky. Not sure if there are any headstones. Rootsweb indicates burial in Turner Cemetery. Any additional info available? -- LC Johnson

I just wanted to say thank you for all of your hard work. You've helped me immensely in my own research.
Can you double check the parent's numbers you sent for her?
