Bio and Links
Bio Photo I have been researching my family history for decades. I was happy to discover Find A Grave. Here, I enjoy sharing the photos & information I have discovered over the years, along with other information that has been generously given to me by many others. I hope you will enjoy my contributions.

I will gladly transfer ownership of any memorial to a relative of that memorial, unless of course it's one of mine. Just ask (using the EDIT tab on the memorial page)!

Please feel free to use the photos in your trees and reference Findagrave.com as your source.

PLEASE NOTE: Please used the EDIT tab found in the upper right corner of each memorial to request additions, changes or transfers. Find A Grave has over 100 million memorials and many names are duplicates. It takes time to find the correct memorial, and for transfers, even more time trying to find your Find A Grave ID #. Memos, notes, or requests left on my Member Page do not give me the appropriate information to make these changes.

Sorry this is so long but to answer frequently asked questions....

Unless you are directly related to the person in the memorial, I will not add any information to a memorial that pertains to a living or possibly living individual in order to protect their privacy. This includes information from obituaries! This is keeping with FAG's policy. From their "Help with Find A Grave" link...

"Can I add an obituary to my interment listing?
You should not copy obituary notices from newspapers (or from funeral home notices or web sites) to an individual's memorial record unless you have permission from the newspaper to do so or you are the author of the obituary. Some obituaries that were published in 1922 or earlier are now in the public domain. In general, obituaries in newspapers are submitted by the family with assistance from the funeral home. If the obituary is added to the memorial record, it should list the newspaper and date the obit was printed for example "Published in the Hattiesburg American, Hattiesburg, Mississippi, Internet Edition, April 11, 2007". Please do not include the names of living or surviving relatives in the biography, unless you have their permission. If you do not have permission to copy an obituary to a memorial, you may put a note stating the name of the newspaper and the date the obituary was published.
Please do NOT add photographs from obituary notices (unless you, personally took the photo), as they are protected by copyright law. Find A Grave reserves the right to remove obituary notices and photographs from memorial records. Similarly, you may NOT scan an obituary and add it as a photograph to a memorial record.
Obituaries for "famous" individuals are usually written by newspaper staff and can not be posted to Find A Grave as the newspaper company owns that copyright.
Please do not include website addresses that may be listed in the obituary as they usually expire within a year after the obituary is printed."

For additional information about Find A Grave & it's policies please see the "Help with Find A Grave" link on the left side of the page under Actions. This includes their policies on transfers, additions of Obits, and other pertinent info.

Thanks so much for understanding,
Sharon J.

Borders, James C.
I've been doing some more digging to - just found Janie Parish today (looks like her maiden name was Smiley but haven't found where she's buried). Hadn't found any more on Susan except the census you mentioned. My mother was a Borders-her close relatives were from north GA, so I'm always tracking down Borders ancestors. Feel free to email me directly. Regards,

RE: Dr. James Culberson Borders
I'd no more than posted the edit re Hattie Heron when I realized I'd proposed the edit to the wrong James C. Borders. [This may be helpful in your research: another Borders researcher states Dr. Borders, Sr's wife Susan Warren remarried J. M. Lampley (I haven't found anything on him yet); other wives listed by the same researcher for Dr. Borders/Clay Co. Ga: Gertrude Gray b Claiborne LA, d/o Sam S. Gray & Catherine Wasson; Janie _____; Janie md next _____Parish. Regards,

RE: Doty-Allman family burial location
I certainly will let you know if anything is found. My grandfather died within 6-7 months after the tragedy. What a sad story it is.
It is said that one of the children may have survived. Do you know anything about this.? The Doty and the Allman family were a very large group in that area. Maybe a church record etc. could be found. I don't know what churches were there at that time or the areas. I was born in Glendale but later raised in NY. So I am unfamiliar with the demographics etc.
keep in touch, hope to hear from you again.

RE: Memorial Updates
I completely disagree. There is no such thing as "privacy" in this age. I will add the obituaries to the listings as photos if you will not add the information. Unless someone has specifically told you they do not want their name listed, it is public information if it was published in an obituary.
