My daughter intoduced me to FAG. We enjoy the hunt and finding headstones for far off relatives of deceased family members. I find myself counting cemeteries as I travel across the country, wondering who is buried in that place. | |

Dan Hadley
 | Austin Wingfield
Hi Judith,
I'm a new member- Dan Hadley, from Missouri. Always looking for more info on Austin Wingfield, whom we are both related to. Austin was grandfather to Minnie Baker and my grandmother, Anna Mary (Sheer) Payne. Thanks to Find A Grave, I was able to locate and visit his grave last year.
My grandmother used to tell me old family stories about the Wingfields, and told me about her cousin "Tante" (your great aunt, correct?) from Altus OK, and told me to look her up to locate a possible ledger that Austin had from before the Civil War that had been passed down. Of course that was many years ago, and the trail is cold.
I'd like to locate any relatives of Austin Wingfield that may have inherited items like that, or have photos. there's no image of him that I know of. How neat it would be to locate one.
He owned a few slaves and the oldest male, Richard Green gained his freedom in 1863 by enrolling in the US Colored Troops. Austin's younger brother Christopher fought at the battle of Wilson's Creek, MO in 1861 in Burbridges' Missouri State Guard Regiment.

The marker you posted for Dale L Reed is not the righttp://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=23637996ht one. My brother passed away in Nov 2006. There is another Dale L. Reed there, and that is the one you took, ans well as someone else, and I can't get that person to delete it. If I can call the cemetery, maybe I can get the locations of Dales grave. I claimed the photo around Valentines day and was going to go this weekend. If you have already taken the photo I can unclaim it then you can post it. Or you can post the photo and that takes down the request. I will do it however you would like. It dose not bother me either way. Thanks!
