|I first started taking pictures of graves of only my relatives. I would return home do a little more research and discover that I missed a few. So out I would go to take a few more photos and the same thing would occur again. After my 3rd trip to the cemetery I decided I would just photograph the whole cemetery.|
I try and do a little research on each of the stones that I photograph, using various resources. I use other people's trees for clues then try and prove those clues with documental evidence such as obituaries, census data or other records. It's a very enjoyable experience.
At first I also created a tree on Ancestry and was uploading the tombstone photograph's there as well but it became too labor intensive so now I only upload my relatives there. If you are would like to use my photographs for your family or upload them else where please do so. A link back to find a grave along with credit would be greatly appreciated. If you wish to use my photographs in a for profit venture please obtain written permission to do so.
My primary areas of interest for my own family lines are the names: Reifinger, Latshaw, Stufflet/Stofflet, Schlegel, Bower, Eck, Mertz, Day, Christman, Bock, Bennicoff, and Gruber in Berks, Pennsylvania, USA; Haney, Van Buskirk, Heller, Mills/Mill, Starner, Weiss, Hofner/Hoffner, Fetherman, Coslar, Sandt, Price, Houser, Werkheiser, and Brong in Monroe, Pennsylvania, USA.
I'm willing to transfer out of guidelines. If you are interested in doing more work on any of mine feel free to ask. Just take good care of each individual out of respect for their memory. If it is a relative of mine it may involve a little more discussion.

|molye||Maiden Name of Catherine Houser Werkheiser|
What is the evidence for the maiden name of Catherine Werkheiser, wife of Henry A. Werkheiser, Find A Grave Memorial # 62763732? Her mother's surname is clearly spelled Heisler in two censuses (1850 and 1870) and phonetically spelled Hisler in 1860. This is not the same as Houser or Hauser.

|Kathy Nevin||George & Clara Kindrew/Mt Zion Cemetery|
George W and Clara E Kindrew had an additional daughter not listed with their other children. Lucy Ellen Kendrew Phillips (original spelling of grandfather's, Christian Kendrew, surname which she used) was born in 1899 and died in 1996. Her father George was born in Madison Township, Luzerne (now Lackawanna) County, Pennsylvania.
She moved to Sterling Township, Wayne County, Pennsylvania in the early 1900's to live with her uncle and aunt Frank E. and Lucy Cary Kendrew. She lived in the Sterling area the rest of her life and married Horace Phillips in 1921. They had two children, Mable Phillips Brown and Albert Phillips. Pvt Albert Phillips was KIA at Anzio, Italy and was MIA for eight years and is now interred in the Ardennes American Cemetery in Belgium.
Lucy is buried in the Sterling, Wayne County, Pennsylvania cemetery.
Thanks so much for the updates.
Am sure there will be others!!
