I love getting out when I can and helping others as much as possible. I don't really know where my love for genealogy started but I love seeing old photos and buildings. My family as well as my wife's came from Cades Cove. Wonderful heritage there that should never be forgotten.

Thank you, and I'll check out my settings.
|Mona Anderson||Roy Ruble Best|
Could Lela J. Best (# 5794263) be Roy's first wife? Jewel Best Carpenter's (5769791) obit states daighter of RAY and Lela but also shows Athelene Best Fuller as a sister. Is Athelene from Roy and Nancy (Elizabeth?) or I am I way off base here?

This is a response to your "problem" with the Hamil Cemetery..your original post:
Pretty sure what is listed and the photos is the whole grave yard. The cemetery is on private property and has changed land owners a few times. One of the land owner pulled up all the stones and laid them against a large tree so his cattle could graze. Later someone put them "back" and placed a fence around the cemetery. Also there was some people that were moved to the Carpenters Campground Cemetery just up the hill and around the bend from this one. Good Luck with your research!
This farm was bought by my grandfather in the 1940s. He preserved the graves that were there the best he could. Unfortunately, cattle tend to break down fences and stomp on tombstones considering they are animals. When my family (me included) moved down there, we received some new headstones and built bigger fences away from where the cattle could destroy the tombstones that were left. What we did was a very admirable thing to do considering we have no relation to these people and really don't even know if they are buried on our farm. I feel that this "problem" you had was very insulting.

Thank you for the very quick memorial for Wayne Smith. My aunt married Wayne's father after his mother died.
|Janis Babb||ELISHIA SANDRA WEBB CARPENTER|
Since you have tombstone pictures, I assume she is buried in Carpenters Campground Cemetery. There is another cemetery in Blount Co. that says she is buried there. Which is correct? Also check her info, in one place you have her father as J W Best not J W Webb. Thanks

I have searched everything I could find. Would you have any information that would show Margaret's maiden name? I am not having any luck finding any information on their 2 daughters either. Thanks so much. Candy Jones

|Sara Buckman||Virgie Reagan|
David, you have my aunt Virgie in a cemetery in Texas but from what I know she is in Grandview where Mark Reagan is buried. Can you correct?

I am a volunteer for the East Tn. History Center working on a registry of Civil War soldiers. I am transferring to you because you know more about this tranfer than I do. Enjoy

The above referenced memorial says it is for Margaret Elizabeth Best Farr. The attached photo of headstone says "Elizabeth B. Farr." That Elizabeth Best, 4th child of John Michael and Frances (Costner) Best, married James William Farr is not disputed. That Margaret Best, 1st child of John Michael and Frances (Costner) Best, married Alexander Ross is certain. Consequently, it very unlikely that Elizabeth Best Farr was ever known as "Margaret Elizabeth Best" during her lifetime.
