RE: Chinnis Cemetery in Brunswick Co., NC
Looking from the road it is to the left of the mobile homes very overgrown
Look at the map on Cemetery gives you an idea where it is

Benfield-Chinnis Cemetery
You might want to get in touch with Reggie Brew, he's in good with the Chadwicks and he is planning on heading there to do some clean-up sometime this fall. Jane Bogie Henry and I were there over the summer and John's right, it's fairly tucked away and very overgrown.
Message me and I'll be happy to get you in touch with him.

RE: Chinnis Cemetery in Brunswick Co., NC
Knocking on doors helped us to find it and it is not taken care of at all. There could be some more markers under the growth in there. It is a large cemetery. Lots of unmarked

RE: Chinnis
You're welcome! sort of drew me in when I noticed one of my Searson relatives weren't listed. My mother was one of those Ravenel Chinnises.

Thanks for the info you sent me on your Great Grandmother. I have her mother, Caroline, listed in CCreek #2. I will try to get out there this week and see if she really is where she is listed and get a picture. I can't imagine that the plot # was listed and as per the "other" memorial that she is in CCreek #3. We will see, stranger things have happened. I will check for Henry while I am there as well. Thanks for your help! Vonna

Where is the Chinnis Cemetery?
Hey Diane,

That is a great question, I wish that I knew. The directions that we had for the Chinnis cemtery, took us to the Sue Cemetery.

As for the map, it needs to be update. I am sending you an email.

Chinnis Cemetery
You might check with Mark Stanley since he listed the cemetery and has a map posted for it.

RE: Josiah Maples

This is our family, we were able to finally mark their graves after 150 years. The VA donated Willis' Jimmie Ruth Richards, a great great grandaughter of Willis & Betsy purschased her stone....

Thanks Diane, The German Carpenter's (Zimmerman) and the French Carpenters' Char Pon Te ayee are two different lines. On my great grandparents Willis & Elizabeth Betsy Ross Carpenters' marriage record, Willis was recorded as Charpenter, a variant spelling of the french name. Unfortunately no-one has been able to connect our line to any of the other Carpenter lines. One of Willis's great-great grandsons thru his son Willis and my self 4 generations removed thr Meshack are a 100% y-chromosone DNA testing, we've not been able to connect to any others. We are of the continential origins possible Freench Irish, it's up in the air....... I've traced my grandmother Maples family and connected them to Stephen Maples 1633. You can follow the links on findagrave. It's interesting isn't it?
