Bio and Links
Please do not use my personal photos or the bios on my memorials unless you ask first. I've researched and written all the information included on these memorials, some information is not included on any document found at Ancestry.
Copy and pasting is not researching!

I've been researching my family genealogy for over 20 years and love doing it.
Most of the memorials I've added are family.
I've also added some Scotland's Comonwealth War Dead, my interest stems from a great uncle that died in WWI. I found his record in the CWGC.

Transfer gladly done if they're not my family. Or will add any info or links you may have. If anyone has any corrections or info to add on any of my memorials, I'd also be happy to add it.

If you are also searching these surnames I'd love to hear from you. I'm always willing to share factual information.

John Gardiner (Ex Gordon Highlanders)
Hope to get some of your photo requests done very shortly, Jill. (Hooray.)

For your information John Gardiner ( 75444821 ) died of meningitis in the Parish of Fern, Forfarshire (now part of Angus). He was buried on 4th. March, 1919.

Home address was actually 33, Duke Street, Huntly and not that on the Imperial War Graves Commission site as the numbers could never go as high as 331 - a clear error.

RE: Andrew McCaslin

Thank-you for getting back to me so quickly and for the sources regarding Andrew McCaslin's sources. I'm sorry that it took me so long to respond to you I recently finished my first semester of college so I've been quite busy.

I am not sure if this will end up being put into a book or what it's just kind of something that I'm doing as a favor for the church. It will probably be a while before I'm finished with all of this but when I am I will be more than happy to send a copy of the bio that I write on Andrew McCaslin.

John Francis Burns, Jr.
Hi, Jill,

I was pleased to find your research on the Burns family line. John Francis Burns, Jr. is my cousin John Otto Burns' father (his mother is my great-aunt Lenora Grace McConnell). He knows very little about his father's family, as he was just a small boy when his father died. I will point him in the direction of your Burns bios on the Find a Grave website. He will be very interested.

Andrew McCaslin
Hello Jill,

I am writing biographies on the veterans buried in the Middlesex Presbyterian Church Cemetery. On the list of veterans I received from the Veteran Affairs office an "N. McCaslin" is noted. I believe that it is referring to your ancestor, Andrew McCaslin, as his headstone reads "A. McCaslin" and he served in the Revolutionary War. However, I am having trouble locating information on him in order to be able to write a biography on him, specifically evidence of his service. The information in your biography of him was incredibly helpful. However, I was wondering if you could please share your sources with me so I am able to back the information up.

Hi Jill,

I was wondering why both of their memorials don't show that they were married to each other?

RE: Scotland Cemetery photos
For the record, this is a relative of mine, my great uncle. The photos were taken by a friend who lives closer to the graveyard than I do.

I can't tell if the photos are ok as they have always looked fine on my Mac. I hope they do.

Brown photo requests
Hi Jill,

I stopped by the Middlesex Presbyterian Church Cemetery yesterday. I walked from one end to the other. I found many markers for Browns but none of the ones that you are looking for. There are numerous stones that have eroded and are totally unreadable throughout the cemetery.

I'm really not in that area ever. I did happen to be doing something nearby yesterday. If you should ever be able to find out a location in the cemetery for these people, I'll be happy to try again. You might only be getting photos of unreadable stones but maybe I just missed them.

RE: Benjamin Brown
Jill, I have purchased a copy of the William Brown family book. It seems whoever linked John Brown (1818-1893) to John Glass Brown (1780-1753) did so in error. So, while John Glass Brown did have a son, John. It is not my 3rd Great Grandfather John Brown (1818-1893).

As for Benjamin, yes, there are several trees that have listed Benjamin as William's father.
