I do appreciate your input - whatever we (volunteers) can do to put that family member one step closer, yes?

Great - thank you for the information on his 2nd wife. Do you know where she is buried so that we could link them?

|Henry S. Dillon||Hugh Dillon|
Thanks so much for responding.
What is the death date on his certificate? If it is 1904, this is Hugh Dillon b1853, son of Harvey Dillon son of Hugh Dillon b1813. My query is about Hugh Dillon b1848 son of Hugh Dillon b1813.
These two are commonly mixed by researchers, many of whom assume they are one and the same.
The two Hugh Dillons are uncle and nephew.
Hugh Dillon b1848 resided in Allen Co., Indiana beyond the 1880 census. There was also a Hugh Dillon in Allen Co., Indiana as late as 1883, employed as a fireman. I assume the same, but no information after that date, thus, my query. The death certificate for Charles Albert Dillon says he was born (1882) in Allen Co., Indiana to Hugh and Margaret dishong Dillon. Charles is the correct family.
Based on his obit, I mistakenly buried Hugh Dillon b1853 in Baileys Mills, Belmont Co., Ohio as the only info on this family was with regard to Belmont and Monroe Cos., Ohio. I also telephoned the Courthouse in St Clairsville, Belmont Co., looking for info on this Hugh Dillon.
I am assuming you have viewed or have a copy of Hugh Dillon b1853 death certificate, which should be on file with the Guernsey Co., Ohio courthouse.
Thanks with your information. You have helped to clarify these Hughs just a bit more.
Looking forward to hearing from you. Very best regards,
Henry S. Dillon
I requested Find-a-Grave to delete Mame - I agree they are the same person. Sorry for the confusion.

I have no idea how to spell his name :) I was on a genealogy trip to West Virginia and crossed the river to go to this cemetery to photograph the gravestones of a couple of cousins. Decided to photograph several other stones too, while I was there. Glad I could be of help.
