Ðévil Ki††¥ Ðésigns™ is a name we chose in honor of our little boy kitty, who is still very much alive and well deserving of the nickname! |
The people behind the name are Rob & Mary, a couple of 40-something "freaks" from Salisbury, North Carolina. He is a Florida native. She was raised in Alaska, and still thinks Florida winters are "too cold". We started photographing and transcribing cemeteries in 2004, and it's become something of a serious addiction.
We both have an interest in genealogy, photography, (especially cemetery photography) history, historical architecture & graphic arts.
Currently we are trying to photograph and record as many of the cemeteries in our area as we possibly can. We will probably still be photographing graves right up until we are put in our own. We also do volunteer genealogy research in our local area.
If you discover that we have created a memorial page for one of your relatives, please let us know, as we would be happy to transfer the page to you unless we are also related to the deceased and our relationship is closer then yours. If you are not a relative of the deceased, but would still like a transfer, please explain why you would like the transfer made(a friend of the deceased, classmate, etc). In such cases we are usually willing to transfer as well unless the person is in our immediate family.
Photos we have added to Find A Grave may be used for non-commerical purposes only. Adding them to your family tree on such sites as an Ancestry.com or to your own personal family history page etc. is fine as long as you give proper credit. In most cases, we maintain larger, higher quality copies of the photos we have uploaded here and will be happy to email copies of them to family members upon request.

I updated Ernest's memorial per your suggestions.
Thanks for the info.
|Linda Wallis||Bradshaw graves|
Yes, the Bradshaw's are distant relatives. My great great grandmother was a Bradshaw, and these are her nieces and nephews (and great nieces and nephews, etc.). You don't need to transfer the graves to me, but I do appreciate your making the corrections. Thank you very everything.
I added the links you wanted. Don't know why I haven't added them in the past. If you are related, did you know the story of when Anna was still single and how Felix outbid her father at the church box social and how her father was so angry that he went home and nailed the door shut so she couldn't come home? I saw the nail holes. She went to Felix' family and the two eloped to St. Cloud. Anna told me the whole story and when she was very old, she still kissed Felix' photo every night before she went to bed.

You're very welcome. Don't feel guilty, 'cause there were many out there in the same boat and no doubt many more. I'll be posting results of my "Edits" tab question on my home page late tonight. Take care.

|Sheila||RE: Edit tab|
Hi-Thanks for your reply yesterday about the new "Edits" tab. To answer your question, they rolled it out to everyone early Dec., but some members took part in testing it out prior to that. In case you haven't already seen, there is some info about the in the FAQs and on the forums. If you want to scroll thru my messages, contributors Connie A. and also Bill and Elaine Schrock provided links to that part of FAQs. We do not get email notifications for edits that come in on the new system, so the only way to know is to look at that edit tab. If there's a number in the tab then that's how many pending edits you have. The old system is still fully functional and you still get emails there as usual, but the edits coming in both places are not duplicates of each other. The new system does not allow us to request links or add source of information, so those have to be done the usual way, thru the "old system" for lack of a better term. Hope that helps. Take care.

|Terry Foenander||Joseph Davidson Blake.|
I have the following data on this Confederate States Navy officer (including source notes):
Joseph Davidson Blake, born North Carolina, about 1831; originally served in the United States Navy, from September 9, 1847; entered the Confederate States Navy on February 23, 1862, as 1st lieutenant; served as lieutenant on the CSS Gaines, Mobile Squadron; treated for a very bad sprain in his ankle, after a fall, on Friday, June 13, 1862; treated for catarrh, with coughing and fainting spells, on Thursday, August 21, 1862, and again with the same condition on Saturday, August 30, 1862; on Thursday, October 30, 1862, the surgeon reported, in his medical journal, that Blake was suffering from "phthisis pulmonalis" adding that Blake had been "suffering with a severe dry cough since about the 1st August – Became much prostrated, and obtaining leave of absence, visited the Springs, with much benefit. The cough has continued constantly since, and upon examination two weeks ago, I detected considerable irritation in upper portion of left lung, with dullness on percussion, and puerile respiration on right side. Last night had an attack of haemoptysis spilling about half pint of blood"; the surgeon treated him with medication, adding, in his notes, that "The disease is hereditary in his family"; it was later noted that Blake had been examined by a survey on November 1st, 1862, and that he would be relieved from duty; went on sick leave; later served on the Richmond station, 1863-1864. [CSS Gaines Medical Journal; ORN 2, 1, 322; Register1863.]

HI - I'm doing a quick survey of about 400 people on my friends list just to see how many are aware of the new "Edits" tab on their home page. If you could just shoot me back a brief response, either way that would be great. Thanks.

|Beverly Lanning Poole||Parents of Elizabeth Morris|
Good Morning, Mary,
I have just linked Mrs. Morris to her parents with the information you sent. Thanks so much.
Let me know if you want a transfer. I'm just taking random pictures at this cemetery now and don't know most of the people whose markers I am photographing.
All the best,
|The Todd's of Scottland||Jimmie A Irwin|
Thank you I did see my mistake, but I fix it, thanks again.
