Hello! To begin, I am a LADY. Confusing first name.|
On this website I am attempting to enter information from the west side of Iron County, Michigan in the Upper Peninsula, where I live. It's BEAUTIFUL here, with forests, lakes, hills, and rivers. The history of the area comes alive for me as I work on this.
I also am entering information from my own family tree and my husband's. We have 5 young adult children and one grandchild, and I'd like to preserve the family tree information for them.
I am a retired High School Librarian, so researching and recording this information is pretty thrilling & natural for me!

Herman Lithén was born in Mustasaari, Finland and emigrated to USA 16.4.193 with passport 1540/8.4.1899 with Titania/Olympic. He was single at the moment. Probably was his wife Signe also from Finland. Signe is a common name in Finland at this time.
His day of birth is the same as I have.
Bengt from Finland

Thank you for taking the time to try and get a photo of the gravestone for Laura. I really like your great idea of a "Photo" stating there is not a headstone and asking relatives to consider purchasing a gravestone, also that it states the "burial is confirmed by cemetery records". What a time saver that is for all the photo request volunteers.
Best wishes, Dana

Dale, you are welcome for the picture. I was surprised that she was buried here too, just for the fact I do not ever remember a judge or magistrate in this area by that name. In any event, it is a beautiful headstone. I really like the Michigan and West Virginia outlines on it. I am glad I could help out.

Hi Dale, I'm looking forward to meeting my Iron River cousins, too, and perhaps finding some new information. I so appreciate all the information you have put on the web. I have so much more I should be entering myself.

Thank you for what you posted about John Spencer Lewis. He is my great-great grandfather. There is a pic of him I haven't seen before.
There is a small stone next to Francs, it is ?ommy Neece June 25, 1944, do you need that one also?
