TO ALL FIND A GRAVE CONTRIBUTORS:|
Find a Grave changed their naming conventions. Check the FAQ's to find out how!
I was delighted to learn of Find a Grave. It's a way to remember people once they leave this world.
In addition to Find a Grave transfer guidelines, I am usually more than happy to transfer memorials to first cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews if I'm not also related. I will individually evaluate each transfer request that is outside Find a Grave guidelines.
I send a special thanks to all who take their time to add memorials and flowers and post photos, especially those of you who walk the cemeteries.

"Once 16 million strong, U.S. veterans of World War II are dying at a rate of more than 1,000 a day and now number about 2.5 million, the Department of Veterans Affairs estimates."
That was a few years back, so the numbers have surely changed. I've heard more recent numbers ranging from 600 to 790 per day. These veterans are in their 80's and 90's now, and there are predictions they will all be gone by 2020.
Veterans of the Korean Conflict, just a few years younger, are not far behind.
Please, let's remember them, heroes one and all, with Find a Grave.

Awww......Thank you. She is now 5 months and wearing her mama out :)
I did not get a photo of his father's headstone. I usually do an entire area and get everyone of the same last name, but may have missed him or he could have been buried elsewhere in this enormous cemetery (I take 300-400 photos each visit and still have not completed even half!) I will make a note to keep my eyes peeled for other Coxes at Parklawn when I am able to get back (if this winter ever ends!)

I've seen discussions about whether or not middle names should go in the nickname field. If it was true that the person would then be searchable that way, that would really be a strong point in favor of such usage. However, such is not the case--but I left it there anyway...
The main consensus was that comments about people using their middle names should really go in the Bio field, since a nickname is a name different than a person's real name...but again, not all agreed, and some people stated that they would continue to put middle names in the nickname field.

Thank you very much!!
|Theron & Helen Smith||findagrave|
Thanks for the explanation. We did not know that findagrave had been sold to Ancestry. That may be a good thing.
|Bonnie Maskery||Marion G. Noyes Kendall #106027319|
Thank you so much for the information on Marion. I haven't been able to get to her update yet - will get to it as soon as I can.
|Mardrie Bergeron Dupuis||Vinice Miller Sensat|
Thanks so much for the obit on Vinice. It helped me to fill in a lot of blanks in my Miller family. I love adding obits on memorials. So much genealogy.
|samantha williams||Thank you|
While not related to Scott Lyda by blood, he was a brother to me at heart. Thank you very much for posting this memorial to him.
