Bio

PERSONAL INFORMATION:
Administrative Secretary for Chelan County Cemetery District #4 overseeing Fraternal Cemetery and Riverview Cemetery located in Chelan.

WHY FINDAGRAVE:
-Site to post cemetery burials providing the opportunity of updates.
-A site to post the family collection of research and history of more than 50 years. Our family photos and stories have been added to their memorials.

GENDER:
We live in a world where gender identity is increasingly considered a cultural construct and fluid concept. In 2023, there were 81 types of genders and gender identities and since I don't know how someone identifies themself, I don't add gender to memorials. All gender references are requested edits.

NAMING MEMORIALS:
The last name will be used as it appears on the headstone (as to how I enter it into the cemetery records so we can later locate the headstone). Additional information regarding previous marriages or other surnames will be added into the bios or otherwise be linked.

PREFIXES/SUFFIXES:
-SR. & JR. as explained by an online source. "A man with the same name as his father uses "Jr." after his name as long as his father is alive. His father may use the suffix "Sr." for "senior." The son may either drop the suffix after his father's death or, if he prefers, retain it so that he won't be confused with his late father." This is an individual's personal preference. I only add it when it appears on the headstone.
-Military rank will be added to retired servicemen or otherwise killed in action.
-Mrs. will only be used for a known married woman, whose maiden name is unknown and isn't linked to a spouse.

SCANNED DOCUMENTATION:
Findagrave has moved to Ancestry allowing scanned documentation. Washington State Digital Archives offers such a wide range of free documentation including census, marriage, early birth and death certificates (1907-1998), it's not necessary to post on every memorial.

UPLOADING PHOTOS:
Photos are uploaded by category: headstone, personal, family or other. Choosing the correct category aligns the photos to display personal or headstone photos at the top of the memorial and documentation at the bottom.

MERGING MEMORIALS:
Please do not merge memorials located in different cemeteries. Each headstone should have its own memorial. As a courtesy when locating any duplicate memorials, contact the contributors first. They might be able to provide additional information as to which should be designated as a cenotaph.
As I have mentioned before, even if someone only has a headstone, they will be listed in the cemetery records.

EDITS/SUGGESTIONS:
Edits will be researched. The absence of documentation will result with a denied request. Contradicting documentation denying your request will be added into the bios. If I send you an edit, it is somehow related to a memorial I manage or a family member that I'm researching.

SENDING A MESSAGE:
-If you have any further questions/comments for the memorial contributor/manager, click on their link at the bottom of the memorial page. The link will lead you to their profile page and at the top is a link for "send a message".
-For the contributor who uploaded the photo, their link is under the photo. The memorial manager cannot remove contributed photos.
-The preferable method is to "suggest an edit" within the memorial. This will send a link to the memorial manager so they know as to whom you are referring to.

TRANSFER REQUESTS:
Please see Findagrave guidelines referencing transfers. On special occasions, I will consider transfers outside the perimeters.

Family branches: Brody, Sawyer, Pierce, Stormo, Jones, Dow and Tilbury.
