Grave Photo for Josephine Vanzyl Memorial #130243521
Tom ~ Thank you for being so kind to first set up memorials for my relatives - the Vanzyls and Swishers. And then for allowing me to help manage them. I have an additional favor to ask. It concerns Josephine Vanzyl's Memorial #13024352. Could you please remove the original photo of the grave marker that shows her as well as someone else's grave. You see, even though she shares a "spot" with someone else, it is not family according to her granddaughter who witnessed the burial of her ashes. I have already taken the liberty to crop our photo and add it to her memorial. Hope that is OK. Again, thanks for all your assistance. Jackie Allman member #47804436

RE: College Hill-Evergreen Cemetery
Many thanks - next trip, you ought to stop by. Both Old JBO and College Hill have had extensive cleanup done. I have been busy restoring markers there. I love doing this - something I really did not get into until I retired. My wife has people up around Piney. She's kin to Torbetts, Mallonees, Crosses, Dennys. If you have any questions that I might could help you with, feel free to ask.. G

Jonesborough Cemeteries
Tom, I have done complete surveys of both the old white and black cemeteries in Jonesborough, including extensive historic research. The white cemetery, off Main St has three entries here on F-A-G, which I have requested a merger. They are Old Cemetery, Old JBO, and JBO City. That area is also locally known sometimes as Rocky Hill, but that's never been its official name. It is owned by the city of Jonesborough. The black cemetery off Cemetery Lane is actually a separate property and, although maintained by the city, an association, albeit loose, actually holds the deeds, not the city. The sloping part is generally known as College Hill and the flat part up top is Evergreen. I sent a couple corrections, but am not going to go through all of them. If you are interested in this history, I am happy to share. We (Heritage Alliance) generally oversee the historic aspect and have a lot going on there. Let me know if you have additional interest in this work. Thanks, Gordon

RE: YONTS
I don't have any suggestions about the merge so I think I would just leave them alone until someone else complains about it.

Campbells in Sullivan County
I wonder if you would mind if I use the photos that you've posted on two memorials for my tree at Ancestry.com. They are M Y Campbell (memorial #95562725) and his wife, Louisa A Campbell (memorial #95562652. Thank you very much. Becky Roorda (labwriter)
