I'm very much hooked on genealogy. Now that I'm retired I am willing to help others and fill photo requests for my area. This site has been a great help to me in finding information and photos and it's time for me to help others. |
I'm currently photographing cemeteries in Hubbard and Eastern Becker county, Minnesota.
During the winter months I have been looking up obituaries to add to memorial pages. If you are looking for an obituary you can email me but please make the request during the winter months.
I will add to, change, delete, and Correct any Memorial I've added.
I will be happy to Transfer Memorials according to FAG Guidelines but I will consider other transfers on an individual basis. I will not transfer Bulk name requests.
Please use the EDIT tab and SAC to ask for a transfer or to have me correct or add information and state your relationship to the person when asking for a transfer.
Anyone wanting to use any of my photo's please ask permission first. If you want the Photo's for resale, for profit, permission is denied.
I am Researching these surnames: Reeser/Rieser, Dunham,Curphey,Newell,Lantz,Adams,Sullivan,Lamb,Bentley,Chapin, Wangen,Meisenhelder and Ziegler.

Please don't use chalk, flour, chemicals etc. on markers when taking your grave photos. Overtime these things can all cause damage to a marker.
PLEASE,DO NOT use the message board for sending information or transfer requests. That is not what it is for. I WILL NOT MAKE ANY CORRECTIONS, LINKS OR TRANSFERS FROM MESSAGES LEFT ON THE MESSAGE BOARD.

In the event of my death or my becoming inactive for a long period of time I would like all my memorial pages passed on to my son DR Wangen #47374156.

|A Friend||RE: Obits|
I haven't forgotten you. I'm going to have to take some paper & do some rubbing to see if I can read some of the older Bentley stones. The weather is just now starting to warm up here.

|A Friend||RE: Obits|
Unfortunately the obits didn't start showing up in the papers until about 1900. You can go to this site & search to see if an obit exist. If there's one you see and want, let me know. I can save them to a jump drive & send them to you & it won't cost anything.
Some of the stones are unreadable now, I've got some more Bentley photo's but I have to figure out who's stone is who's.
If you get up to Max Bentley (21970920), I knew him pretty well.

Sorry to bother you one more time.
I did some looking, the Herman Bentley Sr in Maryland is the Herman you're looking for. Herman Jr & Robert were his & Martha's sons. Herman's WWII draft card shows him & Martha living in Hammond, IN. The 1930 & 1940 census shows Herman & Martha in Hammond, IN with sons Herman Jr & Robert. It is the same person you're looking for because on the draft card it listed his place of birth in Prairieton, IN.

You can find a list of headstones for New Harmony from an earlier stone reading project here.
You may have all ready found all this out but the Vigo County Public library has a free online site for anyone to search for marriage licenses. It has photos of the actual license, this is a great resource for parents & mother's maiden names. I found Martha's & Herman's.
Also there is another place on that site where you can search to see if there's an obituary on microfiche for an individual. You won't be able to see the actual obit but it does let you know that there was one in the newspaper. I see an obit for Martha but there's not one listed for Herman. Should you need an obit, I usually do research at the library about every other week.
Let me know if you need anything, I live right across the street from the cemetery.

|A Friend||Re: Herman H. Bentley|
I did notice the memorial list Herman H and the stone says Herman R. The cemetery was run by the township for years but now belongs to Debaun Funeral Home.
I've got some more Bentley stone photos when I get the chance to go through them.

There is no dod on Herman's (#21848705) stone so it's possible that he wasn't buried there.

Boy, you are fast. Thank you so much for connecting William to his parents. Your kindness is very much appreciated.
Sorry Joan, the link on find a grave does not let me send you a personal message. Have you by chance changed e-mail address?
|Colleen Lockwood||Mary Hardin Wynn|
Would you happen to be able to look up an obituary for Mary 42448638 buried at Shell City Cemetery in Wadena, NM. I don't know if one exists. Is her husband listed in the cemetery information? Thank you for any help. The find a grave link did not let me e-mail at the address in the link.
