|Bio and Links|
I've been into family history since the 1960's. I'm grateful that I started when I did as so much family information gets lost because we don't ask questions early on.|
Find a Grave is a great site and powerful resource. Thanks to all who work so hard to fulfill its primary purpose - documenting known burials.
I'm paying particular attention to Salem Memorial Park in Colma, CA. I appreciate being able to help fill in for all that information lost in the 1906 San Francisco earthquake and fire.
The site has also provided a couple of wonderful finds regarding my family history --- primarily Nancy Brenneman Gast Rhodes. Until I found her on Find a Grave, our family thought she died in 1852. I'm hoping to be able to provide similar breakthroughs for others.
I'm happy to make changes and links for well documented information. Please send transcriptions of obits and news articles (with name and date of the publication) rather than uploading images of them to the photo area (this is no longer permitted by Find-a-Grave). Also, please note that "cut and paste" or transcribed census reports are NOT a bio. Data will be put into proper fields. If you want more, please write a few narrative sentences.
Permission is granted for personal use of any of the photos I have added, giving me credit for having provided them. Permission is denied for use of my photos for posting on other websites (for Ancestry.com - please use their linking option instead). Permission is denied for for sale of my photos or for any other use for monetary profit.

Thank you. I am sure William would have appreciated the correction too.

Thanks for catching my typo in William Ferguson Mauldin's name. All fixed.

Thanks for the prompt edits, Larry. It's hard sometimes, to know if the edit has merit. I wish the new edit system had a space on the edit form for "source". I got Fred's name from his mom's obituary. The fact that he was on the same tombstone as his dad, her first husband, made it undeniable! Thanks for your work.

|Renaldo Browne||RE: Donner Party|
We had a member of our Civil Air Patrol Squadron, who was related to the Read Family, and they changed their name as to not be associated with the Donner Party.
His name was Russell Reed.
Hi again Larry,
I just searched through 2,500 edits and located the other edit I sent you (besides his middle name).
I sent you his birth and death information.
Prior to me sending you the updates, you had nothing on his memorial for his birth and death. You had "unknown" for everything.
So, I just now sent you an edit to remove the birth and death info that I previously sent you.
When you process the edit, it will return the information to "unknown" for everything, which is the way it was prior to me sending you the original edits.
So, now you can return his memorial 100% back to how it was, and therefore there is no need to have my ID attributed on his memorial, so please remove both instances of it.

Sorry - his obit was not attached to his death certificate, it was attached to the funeral home documents located here:
Please remove his middle name and replace it with a "B", since I think that was the only edit that I sent you (I will send you another edit to change it back).
That way you can return his memorial to the way it was prior to me sending you the edit.
After you remove the obit from his bio, then you can remove both instances of my ID from his memorial that attribute any changes to me.
Thanks again for your assistance.

|CHANDLER||RE: Ralph McMurtry (memorial # 65839825)|
I deleted the obit as you requested. That obit was stapled to his death certificate, so I do not know which paper it was originally published in.
Please completely delete it from his bio, too. I don't really care to have my ID posted in the memorial bios of the deceased.
Thanks for your help.

Yes, I saw that record also, had me confused for a while, but I do believe Ranlett is correct. Thanks.

Thanks Larry. I like the way you did the cenotaph link. Nice

Larry, I have moved Sarah to Salem MemPk. The original record showed "cremation" at Hills of Eternity, and I assumed she was there. Thanks for adding the photo!
