While searching for my Great Great Grandfather, James Oliver Hewitt, I realized and appreciate the difficultly some of us have in locating our family members and hope I can help someone in their search.

My grandfather lived in northeast Kansas (Brown County) sometime around 1895 when he loaded a wagon with grain and struck out for St. Joseph, MO, never to be seen again.

He sold the team, wagon and grain and hopped on a train to Fairbury, Nebraska. The trail ends there.

I would enjoy hearing from anyone who may have a similiar story with the Hewitt name.

Hello Pat,
Thank you so much for checking on getting a photograph of my great-grandfather's grave site. I do appreciate your effort to fulfill my request, even though you are unable to do so since the grave is unmarked. God bless your willingness and dedication to this website.

Thanks for checking with the cemetery office and for reporting that they have no record of him at Fairview Cemetery. I did not think he was buried there since he has a marker in another cemetery, but I cannot get the person who entered the memorial to delete it since his obituary incorrectly lists Fairview Cemetery. I have forwarded the information you provided to the administrators and asked them to delete the memorial.

Good For You. Remember-When you're standing in the Stuttgart Cemetery and the sun is blazing down upon you. Remember that I too, am in a Utah cemetery (re-photographing a 8,000 soul section) of a 15,000 soul cemetery. We're all with you in Spirit! Thank You so much for your contributions to Find A Grave.

WOW-You thought of it! I know, deep in my heart that that cemetery needs a Full Inventory. Yeah-I know the German stuff can be a pain. My Grandfather Adam Weinman could help you decipher it, But he was buried there in 1962.

But.....My cousin in Phillipsburg has access to the church records. DO YOU WANT ME TO TALK TO HER AND HOOK YOU TWO UP? I also have another cousin (Beverly Miller) in Stuttgart that probably has access to church records.

I have found with Spanish words, there is a translator feature in the Internet
