While searching for my Great Great Grandfather, James Oliver Hewitt, I realized and appreciate the difficultly some of us have in locating our family members and hope I can help someone in their search.

My grandfather lived in northeast Kansas (either Brown or Nemaha County) sometime around 1895 when he loaded a wagon with grain and struck out for St. Joseph, MO, never to be seen again.

He sold the team, wagon and grain and hopped on a train to Fairbury, Nebraska. The trail ends there.

I would enjoy hearing from anyone who may have a similiar story with the Hewitt name.

All the Holbrooks in Agra Cemetery are my relatives, and if you just did this to help others, and are not a relative, could you transfer admin to me? thanks

Ada Holbrook
If you are not a relative, I would like it, if I could be transferred as the admin. This was my great Aunt, and I am still in touch with her daughter, Mildred. She is one of very few children of Ada, still living, and is 89, and her health is failing quickly. I would like to be sure to get all the info added, before her death.

it is very worn & faded and hard to read. I worked with the picture to make more readable - but impossible.

It's almost like cement water has washed over alot of these stones at this cemetery (from work pouring foundations, etc?)- several had the same issues - it didn't get rinsed off properly and ate away at the stones - that's what it looked like to me - i am by no means an expert, but found it sad the deteriation of many stones.

Hewitt @ Fairbury
I'll try to get a better photo when the snow is gone. I'm not sure why the photo isn't clear, but both of them were slightly blurred.

Their daughter Belva was a teacher in Fairbury for many years, I had her as a 5th grade teacher.

Earl Bushnell, Agra Cemetery
Thank you so much for fulfilling my photo request. I found his death notice, but didn't know when he was born; so, because of you, I have it.

Jesse Gray
Pat

Thank you so much for the photos of Jesse and Infant Gray. On Jesse's stone could you read the day or the month at all? Memorial says that he died the 5th of June 1900 and I found Jesse, his siblings and parents in the census, Phillipsburg, Phillip, Kansas, dated 23 June 1900. Thought maybe the day could be the 25th or the census is dated incorrectly. Hmmmmmm

Thanks for all of your help and time.
