My interest in genealogy began long before I had the time to do very much with it but I started by gathering information in 1993 from my grandparents. Then my cousin took my information in 2001 and really completed the maternal side of my family tree. That left my paternal side unfinished. My great-grandmother, Bessie Spurgeon Horn, was an avid collector of family obituaries and newspaper articles. I began scanning them into my computer and slowly started making some sense out of the connections. My five children have finally flown the coop and that leaves me time to really get busy with the information I have collected. I appreciate all that people have posted on the various websites on the Internet and have begun to post as many of the obituaries and newspaper articles that my Great-grandma Bessie collected as I can. As most of them are of her cousins and their families, I have even branched out and researched those connections in order to make these valuable resources available to distant family members. Please feel free to "snatch" them from the Internet and use them in any way you want. If a higher resolution copy is needed, just email me and I will be glad to send it to you.

Thanks...and happy hunting!

(PS If you use my photographs and belong to the Horn or Spurgeon family, I would like to hear from you and perhaps compare notes....)

Permission to use photo
Hello Beegee,
I would like to use your photo of Cora Worthington's headstone 55303489 and 55303613. Did you know you have her in twice? And please update the information for her. Cora Frances Worthington Born November 1869, Died in June 1870. Infant Daughter of Mahlon Roderick Worthington and Hulda Kaster Worthington. Her parents moved to Nebraska in 1872. She is the only only child buried in this cemetery plot. There were not two Cora's.
Thank you for contributing to Find a Grave and helping me and so many others make connections that we might otherwise never find.
Vicky Wiemer Tracy
P.S. I would be a distant relative by marriage of Cora. Her sister Hattie was my great-uncle's mother-in-law.

RE: Teddy Lamb
Thanks for the photos of Carl and Gertrude Lamb! I had been at West Grove this spring and apparently overlooked their headstones! As for Teddy, maybe he is buried without a headstone. A family member years ago researching the Lambs had told me he is buried at West Grove. By the way, I seen from your profile that you are a descendant of the Reverend Henry Dooley too. I am a descendant of his daughter Frances Wilcockson.

RE: Keziah Horn Meadows
Yes, of course you can use my photo of the marker for Keziah Horn Meadows (1790-1860). It took me two days to just find the Meadows Cemetery so it is good to hear that someone else can use some of my photos from the cemetery.

I'm happy if it was of help to you. Peronally, I have many family members buried at Sherman Chapel in Davis County, Iowa and it is my hope to someday either photograph that cemetery myself (this may be difficult as I live in Oregon) or see it photographed in its enitirety by someone else. Thank you Beegee57 and best wishes.
