Bio and Links
Bio Photo I learned about genealogy from my mother. Long before the computer, she wrote letters locating her family. It's been over 30 years since I started filling in our tree. Currently tracing: Blanchard, Lanham, Carson, Carter, Coleman, Ashby, Williams, Taylor, Lindsey, Bough, Allen, Bogusz, Boyd, Grant, Yocom, Batchelor and Wallace trees. I've walked cemeteries in Indiana, Illinois and Kentucky. I'm a member of the Wabash Valley Genealogy Society, Clay County Genealoigal Society, and Cemetery Committee. Recently became a member of the Sons of the American Revolution, and as a newspaper and a portrait photographer, I love taking photos.

Before posting a Memorial, I research the person as much as I can, which helps fill in some missing information. I try to link family members, which helps tracing other relatives. It's a simple procedure, and really helps in research. If I've posted something wrong, please let me know. I'll correct any mistakes in a timely manner. I will transfer memorials that aren't family. Just ask me!

Census and obituaries can be a good source, however, like anything else they contain errors. I've found errors in names, dates of birth, death, and locations.

As a retired Air Force Master Sergeant, I try to find fellow servicemen, so they can be properly remembered.

(November 5, 2013) My daughter, grandson and I took a trip to Ohio County, Kentucky guided by my Find-A-Grave friend, Helen McKeown. Our goal was to find more family connections, and we did. We visited: Milton Taylor Cemetery, Morton Cemetery, Sunnyside Cemetery, West Providence Cemetery, Centertown Cemetery, Waltons Creek Cemetery, Carson Cemetery and Beulah Cemetery. I saw where my father went to school in Centertown, and lived. (Both are now gone). We found several Revolutionary War connections.

Charles Valentine Neier
You are right, I am a Neier descendent. My 4TH Great-grandfather Daniel Neier was married 5 different times, and divorce was not a problem for him.
Charles was married to Permelia Alice Nicholas. Daughter of James Nicholas and Rhoda (Long) Nicholas.
Their children were:
Viola Lydia Neier
Clay Harry Neier
Darrell Truman Neier
Iva Isabel Neier
Infant Neier

They had lived in Kansas awhile. They came back. It says that Permelia Alice Nicholas is buried in Croy's Creek Cemetery. But it does not say where he is buried. I will have to go to the library in Owen County to check out Carolina Church cemetery to see what is going on.

Thanks for informing me, Rhonda

Hi Cliff,

I have sent my additions and corrections to Find A Grave concerning Julie Stéphanie COLMANT (Julie S. URBAIN).
I have also added her tombstone on geneanet.org/anniedemory (in the green square "medias", at the top of her page).

Hi again..

Thanks for the transfer of the Matherly memorials and for the links!

Sunny, I transfer both Robert L. Matherly (#107065351) and Betty J. Brown Matherly (#107271947) to you. I also linked them for you, so you can added, or change whatever you need.

According to your bio, you were envolved with the government. If you read mine, I spent a few years in the Air Force. I worked at the Pentagon with the Defense Intelligence Agency, and I know my way around Vietnam. I'll be 73 this year.

Good luck on your retirement, and hope your health is better.

Are Poff and Clearview the same cemetery? There are duplicate memorials for Clive Melvin Girton, one for each of these cemeteries.

Cliff, I think you have the death dates on both of them reversed, according to the cemetery stones. See you at next genealogy meeting.

Steinsberger headstone
Cliff, Thank you so much for giving me the photo of my great, great Aunt and Uncle Steinsberger's grave site.I did not have the date of their death until now or a picture. They were married the 25 Jan 1891in Clay Co., Indiana. Could you please look for her parents headstone also at Cottage Hill. They are, Frederick and Carolina Eberwein and are buried in section 3&4, row 1 west side.
A few years ago I was there and couldn't find their headstone. I so appreciate all your work you do as a volunteer.
