I see that you do alot of work on relatives of mine in Dickson Co. I live 6+ hours away in NC. What do you recommend to find obits from 1930-40's for Dickson County? Any help would be greatly appreciated! PJ

Bob,I added photos to McCord Cem. on Tatum Creek Rd. There are ground vines everywhere. Somebody has left beer bottles in there too. My cousin Larry Dean Tidwell (the writer of the Eli Tidwell book) told me that Parthenia Tidwell & husband Joseph (Odie) Sullivan moved to Kentucky. She died of typhoid fever shortly after moving there & he died not long after, between 1865 & 1868, didn't know cem. Also, do you know whereabouts of my maternal 2nd grandmother Martha A. (Patsey) Lampley (daughter of Joseph & Catherine Buttrey Lampley(was Catherine called Sack?). Larry doesn't know. I'm thinking Sack Lampley Cem. Husband was Eli Wilson Tidwell(my 2nd great, he died. somewhere in Missouri. Also, his 2nd wife Mary Molly Aldridge(believed to have died 1889). You can get a hold of Larry through Eli Joseph 'Joe' Tidwell's page at Taylor Cem.,Williamson Co.,TN (he added the photo to Eli Joseph & Eliza McNeal Tidwell). Thanks, Tim

RE: new cemetery
Bob,I thought that I was the only one that brought a little comedy to this. No I didn't take photos, but will today(wife hates it when I use up her memory on her smartphone. Also, that McCord Cem. on Mill Creek Rd. near Washer Rd.,if you turn around at the Little Rock Church,go back toward Washer Rd. and just before road, there is a bridge off to the left, start looking up the hill, cem. has a fence around it. Thanks, Tim

Mr. Barnhill,

I going to the County Archive Tuesday to see what I can find out. He could be in our cemetery I'll let you know what I find out. The history that has been passed down is George Allen Lampley grandson William Adams was the first burial in Lampley Cemetery on Horn Tavern Rd. The child was 7 and buried in 1922. Mr. Bud Jackson was George Allen father I don't think there is a stone for him in Lampley Cemetery he could be in a unmarked grave but I think it unlikely. In some of my research I did find a date of death 5/15/1920 for Mr. Bud Lampley. If also showed him buried on Horn Tavern Road. What is the name of the cemetery on sugar camp rd. Thank you for all your help.

RE: Mary Jones
You may. If your g daughter went to Fairview, I am positive Mary was her friend. She had no enemies. Her tragic death was so sudden.

Mr. Barnhill would you give me any information that you have in regard to Mr. Andrew Lampley. I'm not sure if he's buried there are not. I'm a trustee for Lampley Cemetery. We are trying to keep things as accurate as we can. If Mr. Andrew is buried in the cemetery on horn tavern rd. in Fairview TN we have so history to re-write.

Thank You

RE: new cemetery
Bob,my buddy and I were looking for the Bishop Cem. in Dickson at the Babtist church on Hwy.70 east across from Hwy.96(that one is behind the church sign in the woods, haven't confirmed if they are related to he and I),met a man who lives on Tatum Creek Rd. who told us where to look. Go down Tatum Creek Rd. across from the Lyles Post Office and just past the John Cooper Cem. on the right you will see a fence, look for the gate, small opening between gate and tree to get through, once in turn to left and follow down small hill and you can't miss it. Has old fence around it,gate barely hanging on,small vines everywhere. Last person buried was Una Davenport. One in Wrigley is at the bottom of Washer Rd. and Mill Creek Rd.,start looking in the hills on right.

Mary Jones
Thank you for this kind thought. I had not thought to include her obit from the funeral home. She will be missed. Doug Collier
