My mother started me on family history by taking me all over Michigan looking in cemeteries for headstones and families. Then she would tell stories about everyone. She transcribed all the headstones we found and kept wonderful records. I am continuing on her love of family history and going back to same cemeteries and seeing the family. Thanks to find-a-grave I have found more family and hopefully can help others.
My goal is transcribe local cemeteries, not only the older graves but the newer ones so families can connect. I find I can connect families by their locations to each other in the cemetery with the added benefit of learning the history of the cemetery.

If I manage one of your family members and you would like me to transfer the management please let me know.

RE: Mary I Parker
Mary L. Parker is the daughter of William and Rebecca Sutton buried in Oak Grove, Morenci, MI.
I am the Great Granddaughter of William's brother, Robert Blain Sutton. Since I am involved with Oak Grove in Hillsdale, MI, I do not wish to get involved in the Morenci cemetery, but would be happy to share what Sutton family info I have with any Sutton decendants looking for info.

Slight correction to my first submission - maiden name of Mary's MOTHER was Burnett!

Thank you for all your dedicated hard work!!
The above named Mary Parker - wife of William Sutton - her maiden name was BurNett not Burrett.
I am related to William Sutton through one of his brothers, Robert Blain Sutton, who is buried in Oak Grove at Hillsdale, MI. I have the family birth/death/marriage chart written by the father of William, Robert and 8 other siblings.
They were all born in New York - parents were John Sutton and Sarah Blain.

Benjamin Colegrove
The Death 'Year' Date is wrong for Benjamin Colegrove at Oak Grove Cemetery, Lenawee County, MI.
Should be 1875, but it reads 1876 on Find A Grave text. If you look at the image of his stone it reads as 1875. Can you make that change. I'm a Colegrove relative and family historian. All records in LDS - familysearch.org show he died 4 Apr 1875.
Kind Regards, John Hoyt simonhoyt.com/colegrove.html

RE: Peter Budd Jr
Hi RLE,

My pleasure! I'm only sorry I couldn't find Charlotte. I am sure she's right there near Peter, but a couple of the stones needed a bit more attention to read, and it was such a humid day I had already inhaled a lifetime's worth of gnats :)

Just FYI, I've also added a couple of Budds interred in the Grahamsville Cemetery, and there are a bunch in Fantinekill Cemetery in Ellenville, just in case these weren't on your radar and you wanted to add them. (For the ones in the Grahamsville Cemetery, I'm happy to transfer them over to you if you'd like. I didn't add the ones in Fantinekill myself.)

Best,
Theresa

Jennett VanBortle DeFay
Memorial# 78248341
PS ... I've found the (June) 1880 census and Jennett (as a widow) and her son Josiah are included. I don't know what kind of question this raises, but it does! I hope you can help.
Thanks again,
Martha

Forgive me for asking, but what is your source for the death date and locale for these two people? I don't find anything in Ancestry to back it up. I'd really appreciate your help!
Thank you,
Martha
PS ... Thank you for all your work ... I see your name on so many memorials! You're very good!

RE: Clayton H. Cox
I'm not a direct relative, so no need to transfer. I am not near that cemetery.
Thank you so much, though, for asking.

Clayton H. Cox
Thank you so much for posting Clayton and Marguerite's cemetery photograph. I was wondering if you might correct Clayton's listed birth year as he was born in 1887.
Thank you,
Nicki
