Bio and Links
Bio Photo A group of us had formed a nonprofit foundation to assist the City of Cleveland in restoration of Woodland Cemetery. I will look up names and take photographs of the headstones/graves for those buried in Woodland Cemetery. If you plan on visiting the cemetery, I will also be glad to meet you there to show you the graves of who you are looking for. In some cases the graves may be unmarked. Check out our website to search our database of burials and ongoing events and projects at If you have any questions please feel free to contact me.

Mary Lukes gravesite
I would like to thank you very much for you taking your time and efforts in going out to take a photograph of what I thought to be was an ancestor of mine that I have been searching for a very long time. These volunteers who do this service for others is just wonderful, and I can not thank you enough. Although this time it did not pan out for me in locating my Mary Lukes, it still gives a great deal of information in allowing me to eliminate this family from my family tree. with kind regards, Stephanie

Thanks for taking the time to try to locate his grave marker.
Even though that broken marker may be his, it is nice to have the location photo.

RE: Evelyn Buell
Thanks. Find a Grave allows animal memorials, so I will enter the dog whether you find a name or not.

RE: Evelyn Buell
YES! I am so proud of myself. ;) Before I wrote you, I researched Station #9 and discovered it was disbanded in 2011. More importantly, they had a dog. Even if itís not this dog, I figured it was a dog buried there.

A couple of questions more, though.
1.When was the dog buried? If it was 2007 or later, itís probably Scrawny.
2. Evelynís stone was unused. Where was it between 1938 (when her body was moved) and when the FD took it?

Any answers or ideas?

Evelyn Buell
Morning, Ms. D.! Barbie here. I bet you know the answer to this. I never noticed until this week that the defunct fire station across the street has a headstone in its yard. I'm unraveling her family connections, etc. She was a child who was buried in Woodland in 1897, then moved to Lake View when her dad died in 1938.

Find A Grave Memorial# 78099638

Any idea how or why the stone ended up where it is today?
