I live in Evansville, IN and I have been doing genealogy since grade school. I do photo requests that are in my area. I also have created memorials for people not related to me so if you find someone and have information to add, I would be more than happy to do so.|
Feel free to use any photos. e-mail me if you need a larger size photo than what is on Find A Grave, I might have one.
I try to login at least every every couple of weeks to check for edit requests. If you have an edit submission that has been waiting a while just send a message. There doesn't seem to be auto notifications for edit submissions.
I'm willing to transfer any of the Civil War Soldier burials in Oak Hill Cemetery, just send a request.

My pleasure, Chris. I also added a photo of Olga Watson to her existing memorial and created a memorial with photo for Carl Watson, Robert's parents.

Would love it if you would transfer all you listed in Oak Hill. It makes it so much easier for me update and less work for you in the end.
Thanks! I'm documenting Iowa Civil War soldiers and their burial locations, adding information to memorials, linking if possible and placing them in virtual cemeteries by regiment. Big job. Your information will save much searching. Thanks!
|Jerry Cook||Lt. Col. James Maynard Shanklin|
I am Jerry W. Cook and I live at Wartrace, Tenn. and am doing research on a book about the 1862 Federal occupation of Shelbyville and Wartrace, Tennesse. I notice you have a very good photo of Lt. Col. James Maynard Shanklin on your Find A Grave site for Oak Hill Cemetery. I have a copy of the book "Dearest Lizzie" by Kenneth P. McCutchan which are the Civil War letters between Col. Shanklin and his wife. In the book is a photo of Col Shanklin which is the same one you have on your site----your is much better than what I can produce from the book. In the book it says the photo is courtesy of Virginia Maynard Clifford. Is there any way I could get her permission to use a copy of that photo in my book and could you scan a copy and sent to me, with permission for me to use it. Any help you can give me will certainly be appreciated. Col. Shanklin was stationed at Wartrace and was in the Skirmish of Wartrace on April 11, 1862--He died the next year.
