RE: Prospect View
I really don't know, I've transcribed about 1800 for various people, just whatever came up in the transcribing photo link.

Shame so much work was connected to the wrong cemetery.

RE: George Richard
FYI - The reason I am not transferring at this time because the Richard/Richards family married into the Hall family. The Hall family married into my paternal Bronson family. So until I can sort out the lines, I am not willing to transfer. DBT

RE: George Richard
Well, it appears you attached his brother, John Richard, to their father, Reicherd-Richards. You are free to deal with it anyway you want. I usually just add a note regarding any discrepancies. In this case it would be the name variations. None of them were consistent which name they used. I have seen this a number of times. People change the spelling of their names to be less ethnic sounding, sometimes their family is an embarrassment so they change the name so they are not connected with the "less desirable" family members and probably a number of other reasons. If you look at the marriage notices, WW I and WW II draft cards, obits and censuses you can piece together the family with the name variations. From my limited knowledge of German, Reicherd is German for Richard. Your work on Find A Grave is appreciated. Thank you, DBT

RE: George Richard
I agree no one source is more reliable than another. I use multiple sources that verify the information. In this case the censuses for 1865, 1905, 1910, and 1915 list the family as Richards. In 1875 it is Richart and for 1880, 1920 Richard.

RE: George Richard
Because the family uses the surname Richard and/or Richards you need to look for both. In this case the obit says Richards and the stone says Richard. Thank you, DBT
