Before my mom passed away I started on the journey to discover my family ancestors. I don't remember how I was put in touch with my cousin but we meet about 5 years ago. |
That meeting started me especially after the phone call to my mom. They talked for two hours and I spent the next day gathering photos of people she remembered. The past came to life for her when I brought them home. She enjoyed them for almost 2 years before she graduated to higher ground.
What was interesting is that the past also became part of my present. Now as of August 10, 2008, the tree is being redone. However, this wonderful resource was found as well as an increase of information. The tree now stands at 6,011 people. It grows every day with new discoveries. All because of a computer crash new life is growing. With the help of others for every question answered ten more come up.
For that reason I am glad to experience the ever expanding network on this long journey. As they say many hands make work lite. Lets all work together and see what else can be found.
Thanks a million times something,

Hi Doug - I'm sorry it has taken me 3 months to get back with you. If you would, please link him to his parents, father - John Huey Moore #119147779, and mother - Elizabeth "Eliza" Sheridan Moore #119147822. Information for his biography:
On March 5, 1860, Euphrates married Samantha Catherine Stewart in Henry County, Tennessee. On November 29, 1861, he enlisted as a private in the CSA in Paris, Henry County, Tennessee, serving in Company F, 46 Regiment, Tennessee Infantry. Just 4 1/2 months later, his unit was captured on April 8, 1862 on Island No. 10, and the prisoners sent to Camp Douglas, near Chicago, Illinois. On September 13, 1862, while held as a prisoner of war, Euphrates died of dysentery. His daughter, Samantha Euphratia, had been born just 8 days earlier. (The rest of his unit was release in Vicksburg, Mississippi two months later.) Euphrates was survived by his parents John Huey Moore and Elizabeth Sheridan Moore, his widow Samantha Stewart Moore, daughter Samantha Euphratia Moore, and siblings Martha Ann Moore Brooks, Julia Ann Moore Moore, Melissa Moore Underwood, Imogene Hasentine Moore George, Ruben Bowdie Moore and John W. Moore.

This memorial is for my uncle, who was the brother of my gr-gr-grandfather. I was wondering if you would consider transferring his memorial to me? I created the memorial for the Confederate Mound, where he was buried, which was taken over by Find A Grave due to it being famous. I had added a memorial for my uncle, but for some reason, it had disappeared. I never could figure out what had happened to it. I would really appreciate it if you would consider the transfer. I have additional information that I would like to add. I've done extensive research on the family, and on this uncle as well, due to his Civil War service.
Thanks so much, Natalie 46503045

I was out at Oakridge Cemetery this past week to find graves for some of my family. I got some burial records from the Clerk-Treasurer's office, and here is some additional information I thought you might want to add to the memorial for Eliza D. Bale (Memorial 42137262 ):
Date of death: Aug. 16. 1932
Plot: Orig 2009
I'm not related to this individual, just trying to add some previously unlisted folks to this cemetery. Thanks! :)

Do you have any other information on Joseph Oster, or did you just take the photo? Thank you!!

Doug: I don't know any other way to contact you, so this will have to do. You have listed as a sibling for Louise at "Find a Grave" Edward born 1881. He was John Price's brother, Luoise's uncle. You don't have our grandpa listed as her brother Dudley Harold Price. Cousin, Carol

I noticed you posted a photo of Lorenzo Chapin on this site. Lorenzo is my great-grandfather and I have never seen a photo of him. Thanks. May I ask where you got it from? I wonder how we are related?
