|I enjoy photographing cemeteries and posting the information here on Find-A-Grave for all my fellow genelogists to use. I know how difficult it is to find burial sites of elusive relatives.|
As for transfers of these memorials, I am glad to do it, provided your request falls within the Find-A-Grave transfer guidelines. I find that sticking to the guidelines keeps everyone happy and polite.
Regardless, I am always happy to add links, family information, or obituaries to any of these memorials. Just use the EDIT tab and ask away. I often add links myself based on information in an obituary or on a gravestone.

Thank you for all that you have done to bring not just me but all of us a little closer to our loved ones. We often forget the struggles they went through in the past to make this life we live better. And those that leave us too soon we need to remember them for the passion, love and joy they left behind. Even through our heart break we can find joy in their memory.

Thank you for checking. Maybe something will turn up as you review all those photos.
My best to you.

Hi, I see you have taken a photo of the cemetery Thomas Rountee is in. I am looking for a Thomas Forehand b. 1724 d. 1769 in North Carolina. My research shows they had several land sells and lived close. Do you also take photos of the graves ? I think my family maybe there possibly. I haven't found a cemetery listing of the people buried there that cemetery. Do you know how to find out about do that. Thank you so much for the photos you contribute to researchers.

Thank you for your information. I have updated the memorial.
|djyancey||RE: Re: Thomas Yancey|
feel free to keep him if you wish
I undertsand guidlines
but I dont think my request was in violation of the spirit of the guidelines.
I dont think there is any reason a person CANT transfer to a family member even if they arent a direct descendant - if they so wish - and it makes sense.
There are tons of people who take thousands of photos for people they have no relation to.
Most such people are MORE THAN happy to transfer the memeotial to a non direct famly member who has a connecton with the deceased and is more willing and able to udpate the memorial. I dont think anyone feels this is in violation. In fact it goes in line with the spirit of findagrave.
If there are multiple people wishing to administer the memorial - yes it only makes sense that it would go to the person who is a direct descendant. That should trump anything else - I totally agree.
If you have some special reason to wish to keep the role as administer - great - I appreciate your action in creating it - and thank you for your continued willingness to take care of the memorial. I will share with you anything that I can add.

Oh, I think I just figured out why you want the parents, Peter & Christine Nielsen, removed from her memorial - her maiden name probably was not Nielsen.
That was an edit sent in by someone. Since I don't know the people I just check to see if the dates of birth make them plausible parents of the child. Guess I'll have to start looking at the names more closely.
I get lots of edits where people just want to LINK - they don't think or know the person for whom they request the link. Like linking an 8 year old as the father since they have the same last name!
High Plains :)
