Clarence Blake Ballance 1893-1894 is the son of George and Mary. You have posted a Clarence Ballance Grave Marker to the above who was born in 1918 and died in 1974. Who is the family (mother/father of the Clarence Balance and who did you post it to Clarence Blake Balance? Thank you in advance.

RE: McClary Cemetery

My husband and I visited McClary Cemetery in September 2003 to honor his, Ansel & Elizabeth (Foster) Terry. The cemetery was in great shape then. A Terry cousin had had the new fence erected around it as cattle had knocked over some stones. I do have more pictures of the cemetery, fence, etc. It's kind of a long story but he had the new stone for Ansel Terry placed at that time.

Do you know of any connections between the McClary and Terry families in Daviess County? Most of the Terrys are in the Old Scotland Cemetery.

How about e-mailing me at

RE: Jacob Sharrah
I'll take another look the next time I'm there, and see if I can find a marker. Some have funeral home markers that are hidden under the grass, and they may be easier to find in the winter, so I'll check on it then, if I don't find one sooner.

Forgot to mention that I'm pretty sure he doesn't have a marker. The section that he is in has been photographed.

RE: Jacob Sharrah
I was adding memorials from the cemetery records, and always checked to make sure they weren't on there first. I am sure that there are glitches, because this one never showed up. That part, I'm sure of! Thanks for being so understanding. I hate making duplicates, and do my best to catch the ones I've done, but sometimes, they just don't show up when looking!

I love this obsession of ours!

I've deleted my duplicate. Sorry about that, and I don't know how I missed it!

RE: Cruse Cemetery
So that makes us related? I am very interested in finding out about any family - be it distant related or not. Makes it a small world "after all." HA

I was born a Cruse and maybe you also? Before when we "talked" you only mentioned the memorials were a loving work you did and how hard it was for you to get to them. I never realized you were actually family.

When I saw how many memorials you posted and your comments about willing to transfer, I thought I would ask. Please forgive me, as I did not realize you were related to my family as well. I've never understood why people make memorials up and don't want to transfer to someone who is related (be it distant or not.. family is family). But you being a Cruse makes more sense now.

Let me know how we are related. I am so anxious to find more family members. My son and family moved to IL and I thought about it as well. How neat to know I can find family there. Maybe someday we all can meet.

I will continue to post flower/tokens because like I said distant family is still part of my family. I am trying to establish a family tree for my children/grandchildren and will add these as well.

Thanks for your time and sorry to have bothered you about it. Like I mentioned, I never realized you were a Cruse as well.

Take care, dear relative
May the Lord bless and keep you safe,

Cruse Family
I noticed you said on your bio "If you are going to love them, improve them, please feel free to request a transfer."

I would again like to request a transfer of all the Cruse family members. They are in fact a part of my family tree and I would be honored to maintain and care for these precious souls. My dad was always so proud of his family members in IL. and that love has been passed on to me.
