Thank you for posting the photo of the grave and the memoriam to him. I had incorrect information on his burial.

No solid proof. However I believe there is enough circumstantial evidence to say he is the one. That is my story and I am sticking with it until proven otherwise.

Some of my info comes from a book "Barclay Reviewed" by Roy Ortner. The rest came from different trees on Ancestry. Roy Ortner grew up in the area where Henry immigrated to from Germany so I believe he knows what he is talking about. He may have a few dates that are a little off but the book is quite well done. Have you read the article I attached to his memorial about his wedding to Miss Wingert? He is also a brother to my G Grandmother Mathilda Kunkel Schmitt. Roy Ortner's family just lived down the road from my G Grandmother. Is there a reason to believe this information is not correct? To me it all seems to follow along quite well.

I see that you added a photo to Rosalia Wingert Ortner's memorial.
Her son Joseph married my great aunt, Josephine Kurtz. Her other son, Casper married my great aunt Clara Kurtz. I was wondering if I could copy this photo? AJ

|DC||a wingert puzzle?|
Charlotte: I found this memorial online at FindAGrave (74950085) and am trying to figure out who her parents were?
Wingert: Mary daughter of M and R Wingert
died February 24, 1885...and I think 4 mos and 14 Days which would put her B-day about Nov 9, 1884.
I am a great, great grandson of Frances Wingert (Weiebel) and Jake Wingert, and am originally from South Dakota....this Cemetery St. Mary's is where I believe (although it is transcrbed wrongly (Weisel!) Frances's mother Amelia Marie and sister Mary Rosella are buried...this lone Wingert grave is very near the Weibel plot...if not in it. If you know or are able let me know at firstname.lastname@example.org
Frances and Jake (my great, great grandparents had a daughter Elizabeth who died in 1885, but I thought that was in Dickinson County.....the search continues!

I am the grand-daughter of John Marcus Wingert, who was the son of Marcus Michael. John moved to Sask. Canada in 1909. I would be happy to give you information to fill in this hitherto unknown member of the family. John fathered 11 children, who scattered across Canada. All have passed now.
There are many grandchildren though, one of which is myself, Lois Wingert Kelln. Please contact if you would like information. Thanks.

|Dixie Wingert-Swisher||Questions (3)|
This is Dixie the daughter of George C. the son of George A. the son on Jacob Frank, the son of John, the son of Sabastian Wingert and Mary Barbara Guitre Wingert,
Question # 1 -
How do you get to Guitre for her last name instead of Mocshino? The nuns in Easteren Iowa have her as Barbara Mocshino who is married to Sebastian. Same family - same children
Question # 2
My granddad George A Wingert said they were from Alsauce Lorien France and they were Pennsylvania Dutch -- then my Uncle says the name Wingert is German, I was told we were France but my Uncle says we are German who lived in Alsauce Lorien France - so what have you been told German or French? -
(I know there were a lot of wars in that area and sometimes the French took Alsauce Lorien and then other times the Germans had control and some say the Italians also held it at differnt times.
Question # 3
Do you pronounce it Win-gert, or Wing-ert?
Thanks Charlotte for your insite
