RE: Pvt Andrew J Phebus photo
I just noticed the message from you. I'm so sorry it's taken so long to answer.

I have the picture stored now but to give you a quick answer, it was in my Grandmother's things along with her "dream-book". Similar to what we put together today in collage of how we hope our lives turn out. He was what she thought of as her "beau". The other man is a relative and they had stayed a couple of days when they were on off duty. My Grandmother latter moved with her family to Oregon leaving her friends behind.

That's the story I was told by her, Edith McKinley Hewitt.

Patricia Hill
W Russell Stroup
if you search the name, there is 2 memorials created for this person (W. Russell Stroup & William Russell Stroup). One of them needs to be deleted, I think.

RE: Dixie Lee Culp Tucker

I do not have any additional information about Dixie. She was a cousin but as far as I know, my family never actually knew her.

I posted the information from our family genealogy book in hopes it might give someone else a starting place to search for more information.

You might try contacting FindAgrave member, suebabe as he also asked about her. Maybe he knows more.

RE: Pvt Andrew J Phebus photo
The Adams & Phebus photo was among my grandmother's things. Purportedly the solider's are Joe Adams and Andrew J. Phebus.

Joe would have been my grandmother's uncle. In her latter years she told me they had come to her home in Indiana while they were in the service. They became friends while in the War of 1912. My grandmother spoke of Private Phebus with a romantic hint of a young girl who had a crush on a dashing solder.

RE: Dixie L Tucker
I never knew Dixie, I just entered her memorial from the information on her gravestone, but I hope you're able to get in contact with the family somehow.

Hopestill Daggert Wheeler
I am not sure if the photo I have on file is of gravestone you are requesting-

It is a very old slate stone in the Stevens Corner Cemetery. The stone reads as Hope Wheeler's date of death as June 179--. Age 72. Wife of Aaron Wheeler. Interesting, the epitaph says she was "mother of 13 children". It is hard to read. Aaron Wheeler's stone is next to hers. Please let me know if this stone is the one you are looking for. Thanks!

RE: Nicholas Kandall
Thank you again for the pic and your reply.
My husbands Wheeler family is from Mass, Penn, Ohio, Kansas and Texas.
Dewey Wheeler of Coshocton County, Ohio had 9 children (5) boys and I don't know where all of them settled. Maybe Michigan.
My husbands grandmother Elizabeth Kendall Wheeler was from Luxembourg and grew up at Manistique, Mi.
Does any of this fit you family?
Thank you again.

Nicholas Kandell, Lakeview Cemetery, Manistique, Michigan
Thank you for posting the pic of this grave. I believe he is the son of Michael Kendall also buried at Lakeview cemetery and the brother of Elizabeth Kendall Wheeler, my husbands grandmother. I a writing to ask if you are related to this Nicholas Kandell and if so how. Thank you again.
