Bio and Links
Bio Photo So many people have come before us to contribute their DNA to our family trees and as I unravel the roots of my family I so appreciate people who have gone into the cemeteries to photograph tombstones and spend countless hours transcribing records so I can document my family. I would love to be able to help others find out more information about their family ties and I don't want anyone to be forgotten, so I love that this website gives us the tools to do that.

If I have created a memorial page for anyone related to you that falls within the Find a Grave guidelines, (vertical relationships, not sideways) please let me know. I hold to the Find a Grave rules on transfer requests. I am more than happy to add anything you want to pages and am quick to update. You may add photos and notes to any page whether you maintain them or not.

One note also about getting pages from inactive members that I would like to address. Many have created their own family pages and think they can have them safe and sound without being on this site for awhile. I can't transfer them in good conscience because they can come back at any time and ask for their pages back. Some people have to go inactive for surgeries or have upheavals in their lives, so they take a leave hoping to come back to their pages later. Find a Grave has entrusted to my care some of those pages, so I'm holding them in trust and will only transfer for close vertical relationships.

To get anything added to a page, please use the EDIT tab on the upper right corner and then the top line that says "suggest . ." Also use this method to contact me regarding incorrect information, adding additional information, linking married couples and their children etc. The linking tool is built into the edit tab now, so please use it.

I have been a professional photographer for 37 years and I know how dear to the heart of a photographer the copyright is of a photo. However, in the case of my tombstone photos, if you would like to use them on other pages like Ancestry.com, feel free to do that but please have the courtesy of telling where you got it. "Photo by Sandy VanderTol" would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Yeah I will try that. It is her married name. It does sound spanish doesn't it. One of my Patterson's name their kid Alvaro. Always wondered where they got that from. Sounds Spanish-Portuguese etc. to me. But Patterson is definitely Irish/Scottish. Sometimes I think they name their kids after just somewhere or something they like! lol. I gave my kids unusual names and they report their names are not on key chains etc haha. They are Tiana Chrystine, Catarina Mychelle, Neenah Isabella and Demetria Renee. I told them to use their middle names if they dont like it haha. However I think they like it now as none of them use the middle. Couple their names with their last name of Alves and their names sound very exotic and ethnic. However Tiana and Neenah and Demetria and Blondes and a red head. lol

Yeah I am thinking German myself. We cant figure out the maiden name of his wife Mary Mandigo. She married a Mandigo. Maybe she was Dutch because they get married in a Dutch Reformed Church in the White Pigeon are of Michigan. Mottville, Three Rivers, area.

RE: DeLong being a Dutch name
Thank you although we didnt know my mother had passed away. I was so young I did not retain it so I have learned to live with it. The love my grandma gave us made up for a lot. It bothered me more when I had kids of my own. You start thinking about what could have been. Now I have learned it is just something that is and I love genealogy because I can put a face to a lot of the things I didn't know.
yes grandma lived in Oklahoma. Although my dads side (dad is a nationally listed missing person, vanished from Galveston TX in 1983) is from Oklahoma and so Jessie my grandmother on my dads side she lived her life out in Manford. I want to say that is near Broken Arrow. I use to live in Tulsa( that's where my dad was born and raised in Turley) and we passed by there all the time. I actually really love Oklahoma.
Your family history sounds really interesting. and it is filled with wonderful characters same as mine! I love the stories. You have some great ones!
I have a newspaper subscription right now and can look up a name for you and if I find anything I can email it to you :) I found a lot of things in Benton Harbor and I just found legal notices on my grandma's (moms side) grandpa. Guardianship notices which I really needed. The newspaper is wonderful!
