Thank you so very much, Rick, for adding photos of the grave marker of my great, James and Margaret Givan. Your photos gave me definitive information I was looking for. Lovely photos, too. Best, Vickie Rabourn

My name is Rita Davis Allen I live in Wynne, Arkansas. My grandmother Mary Belle Davis was born 10th Nov. 1884 in Sullivan Indiana. She had my father before she was married , he was born 10th Dec. 1905 in Sullivan and years went by before she told him little things about his real father. They came to Ar. in a covered wagon and a year after they arrived she married Samuel Plyler and dad thought that was his name until he applied for SS# and grandmother had to tell him the truth. All she told him was a name and the area. I'm the only one left in my family and I just want to find my roots any info and help will be appreciated so much.I'm not sure about the spelling but my dads name is John Arthur Davis Thanks for any lead Rita

I see that you posted the “Transit Permit - Certificate of Undertaker” on the memorial page for Rolla St. John, memorial # 4601666. Since, this is a rare document, my guess is that you most likely had this document in your possession because you are Rolla’s relative, possibly his direct descendent? Better still, I’m hoping that if you are his descendent/relative, you are also related to his mother Eliza St. John (1836-1888) or at least have information about her origins and her full name? If not, possibly you will share how you obtained the document or can provide contact information for the individual that transferred it to you?
From Eliza’s 1870 census reporting and from her son Warren Wallace St. John’s census reporting on the 1900 & 1910 census, Eliza was apparently born in Tennessee. Eliza’s 1880 census report indicates she was born about 1836. Warren’s subsequent census reporting in 1920 & 1930 indicate she was born in Arkansas. I theorize that she really was born in Tennessee in 1836 and lived in Arkansas before marrying her husband James St. John to eventually end up in Indiana.
I am searching for the fate of Hannah Eliza Stevens (1836-????), born in Washington County Tennessee, who disappeared in Madison County, Arkansas (near Fayetteville) after the 1860 census. Hannah is the daughter of my direct ancestors.
I look forward to and appreciate your response.

Thank you for the picture of the inscription on the Civil War Memorial for GB Stevens(sic), Findagrave #14736691. He died of disease, while a POW at Camp Morton, Indiana. The correct spelling for his name is Greenberry Stephens, b: 30 Jan 1830, in Missouri. Greenberry left a wife and 6 children aged 14 and younger. He is forever gone from our sight, but will never be forgotten by his descendants.

You are very welcome. I found it very interesting that Urbanus Albert's father was a member of the 153rd. Mt husband and I both had a relative in the 153rd and I have a virtual cemetery for the 153rd. I also have a new book by Jeffrey D. Stocker on the 153rd, titled "We Fought Desperate".

I got a call back from the caretaker. He couldn't find record of the interment. He gave the birth date of 1/27/1869. He said he'll keep an eye out for the stone, but he is not hopeful to find it. *Super* nice guy.
|Cheryle Latour||Ida Mae (Michael) Prater...Whetsel|
Ida's mother was Mary Lucinda Miller. John Andrew and Mary Lucinda were married 18 November 1883, two years after the death of his first wife, Mariah Shortridge. Mariah died 7 March 1881. She is buried in the Yeoman Cementary in Carroll County, Indiana, not Beech Grove. If Mariah is her mother, Ida would have to be at least 7 years older than the date on her marker. John Andrew and Mariah were married 10 August 1878 in Carroll County, Indiana. To my knowledge they only had one child, Veronica, nickname "Verna". If you have any more records on Mariah I would appreciate it if you would share them with me. - Cheryle

Hello! I noticed on the memorial that you had referenced cemetery records in regards to his name. I was wondering if there were any other notations in the cemetery records. I'm looking for a James H. Shaw, husband of Elizabeth A. Laws Shaw. They lived in Anderson township, Marion County, IN in the 1880 census. Elizabeth is widowed on the 1900 census.
I appreciate any direction you can give me in regards to the cemetery records.

I'm sorry Rick but I had taken the photo of this memorial in 2012...I still added it as it's rare that we get requests fulfilled at AMP anymore :( They make it unpleasant most of the time when I go in to ask for info and they realize it's for Find A Grave. I will remove my photo if someone (or myself) gets a current one with the death date but until then I'll leave it unless you let me know you would rather I didnt':) I'm adding a new photo request just in case someone might get a current photo. I have about ten more cds with photo from 2011-2013 at AMP to add pics but haven't gotten to them until now unfortunately.
