Bio and Links
Bio Photo I just love genealogy. I got hooked several years ago. I just love walking cemeteries. Many old stones are gorgeous. I just love a good mystery to solve. Many time answers are just awaiting me. I just have to keep my eyes open.

I add other stones that I see in my treks in hope of helping others. If I have added one of your family, I'd be happy to transfer "management" of the memorial to you. Just let me know. Please use the edit tab on the memorial to do so. That way, I can make sure that I am transferring the correct memorial. If you notice any errors, please let me know via the edit tab and I will make the corrections. Thanks. Please be patient with me about the edits that are sent automatically. I do try to keep up with them. Sometimes I do forget to check.

I lived in Green Township, a Cincinnati suburb for many years. I walked many of the cemeteries in Hamilton County, Ohio and Campbell & Kenton Counties in Kentucky. I currently live in Whitefish, Montana.
I walk cemeteries in Flathead County now.

You have my permission to use any photos I take for your family trees. Please credit me with taking those photos as CarolS on findagrave. Thanks.

RE: Heekin, R.
I just received a list from a distant Heekin Cousin on He received a list of who is buried in James Heekin's plots in section 2.
List as follows:
Mary Heekin Section 2 Lot 1
James Heekin Section 2 Lot 1
Mary Alice Garlick Section 2 Lot 1 - 2
Aileen Bering Section 2 Lot 1 - 2
Ellen Hecker Section 2 Lot 1 - 2 This is James's mother and should be Heekin
Catherine McMahon Section 2 Lot 2
Daniel Malloy Section 2 Lot 1 Range 3
R Heekin Section 2 Lot 1 Range 3
Joseph Heekin Section 2 Lot 1 Range 3
Mary Gallagher Section 2 Lot 1 Range 3
M Fitzsimmons Section 2 Lot 1 Range 3
Anna Brennan Section 2 Lot 1 Range 3
Robert Heekin Section WP Lot 26 Part S Range 14
(They think that Robert Heekin and R Heekin are the same person and was a reburial - so find a grave would have to combine these two.)
On his list he states that Daniel Malloy, M Fitzsimmons and R or Robert Heekin were reburials.

RE: Heekin section 2; lot 1; range 3

I am getting so confused. I have Daniel Edward Molloy (that's how it is spelled on DOB: 1815 to 1854. I have a copy of his will. He leaves all property to his wife to benefit his children. Wife Mary Molloy Fitzsimmons, and that is how it is written. Now Mary then marries John Gallagher in 1857. Mary dies in 3 Feb 1886 and her husband John dies 1909. ( Now my cousin who is also at St Joseph's Cemetery, Marguerite Henry was moved to St Joseph's many years later.) So maybe the 11 Nov 1883 date is when they moved them all together??
Annie Brennan is the Irish maid who helped raise the children. Thank you. The family history has her name as Annie Bannie, (the children may have called her that!)
I know of the children that died young Joseph and Marguerite.
Mary Gallagher is probably Mary Fitzsimmons Gallagher , they died around the same time. Mary Gallagher had a mother named Mary / father was Peter. M Fitzsimmon was buried the same date as Daniel Molloy. So Mary Molloy Heekin could have moved them all to this plot. I have NO IDEA who R. Heekin is.
Now R Heekin. James and Mary had a son Robert who died in 1870. I have requested a picture of both R Heekin and Robert Heekin. Robert was born 1869 and died 7 May 1870. They may be the same person. R. Heekin date is the same as Daniel Molloy, M Fitzsimmons, so the case could be made that James and Mary moved them all together when they bought their plot's at St Joseph's.
John Bering was my Aunt Aileen husband. Aileen was James and Mary's dtr.
I have Aileen Bering, Stella, Nellie Clark and Husband , Mary Alice Garlick, Joseph, Margarite,
I hope you can understand my ramplings. This has given me a headache, trying to figure it all out.
If you could link me to Mary Gallagher and M Fitzsimmons, I will add them to my sponsorship.
Thank you so much.

RE: R Heekin
You took a picture that grave marker states "Grandma" It is with the Heekin Monument. James and Mary Heekin. It states that she was buried 11/11/1883. I am James and Mary's great grand-dtr. I cannot find any R Heekin in the family records or James had a mother Ellen who died in 1888. We have been unable to find her grave. the Heekin's are mostly buried at St Joseph's New Cemetery. I have many photo requests for this cemetery. James's brothers John, Peter and Patrick are also buried at St Joseph's and I cannot request photo's of their markers because the cemetery picture is their and 'you can only have one picture.' So any Heekins you see at the cemetary are probably my relatives, but I am mainly looking for the older relatives. Born in the 1800's.
R Heekin Find a grave memorial: 63790299
John Heekin # 129454301
Peter Heekin # 129454313
Patrick Heekin # 129454312
also Robert Heekin # 129454316 was James's son who died in 1870 and is probably with his mom and dad.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I live in Maryland. Thank you.

RE: Wolf at St. Johns
Well I owe you a thousand thanks!!. Those records helped so much on my maternal grandmother's side. Especially the Bohrer and Rentz families of NKy. I see you have requests at some local cemeteries I haven't visited but have ancestors at. I will keep my eye out for your requests if they haven't been fulfilled by the time I visit.

RE: Wolf at St. Johns
Yes it has. I think it's the ads freezing it. Sorry that I couldn't get a clearer view of Mary's first name. I tried different angles but her stone was so much darker than the other 2.
Are you the same Carol S. who transcribed all the records on the Campbell County site?

RE: Wolf at St. Johns
You're welcome. I do have a close-up of Katharina's stone. My computer is just taking a long time tonight adding photos. I didn't notice if Caroline Rowekamp was there. But I am still looking for an ancestor of mine in that cemetery so I will check next time I'm there.
