I started researching my families a few years ago. Some old family pictures and my great-grandfather Jones' family Bible got me curious enough to start looking and asking questions about my family. Several years later I am still looking and asking. My primary family names of interest are Jones, Smithson, Cripps, Hathaway, Moser, Wood, Owen, & Elledge all at some time living in the Middle Tennessee area in Dekalb, Wilson, Cannon and Warren Counties. Find A Grave has become a great source for genealogy to me. I have made many new friends here and have met a lot of new cousins. I think we have gained a lot from each other in our family searches. I enjoy helping others and I hope the memorials I post somehow does help someone find a friend or relative, I know I have found many. Most of the time I will transfer any memorial as long as they are not in my direct family lines or closely connected to my family. Just ask and tell me how you are connected. The same applies to pictures. I find my pictures posted all over the internet, some make reference to the originator and some don't. I don't mind anyone using my pictures for personal use but it would be considerate to mention the person that made the effort to get out and make them. Although I am not a registered photo volunteer, I would be happy to try and locate and photograph headstones for anyone, just ask.|

Hi Mike, Thank You Greatly for the Headstone photograph of My Childhood Clasmate Friend , Jan. Her father was from that area, Solon C Davenport, he lived up in his 90's and did Jan's mother IF by chance, her parents are buried in the same cemetery Davenport would be on their headstones. I do not know but hope they are near Jan.
It is kindness and your contributions you do to help so many of us. Your time is greatly appreciated and many Thanks.
Jan passed at age 29 from Cancer. She is very missed and thought highly of her. Blessings , Carolyn

Hi Mike, noticed you have a memorial for Jake D Halfacre is he in your family line? I'm currently researching the Halfacre family with my cousin.
Thanks so much,

Thanks Mike for the reply. I will change his parents in my tree.
I do not know where Angeline is buried. Oscar is buried in Midway Church of Christ Cemetery. Maybe she is there too but unmarked. We may never know.
I got a note from someone on ancestry which started me on this line again.
Talk to you later I am sure, Robie

Hi Mike: I saw your Find A Grave entry for Oscar and 2nd wife Hattie "Hallie" Mae Woods.
His first wife was Angeline Emaline Pelham, my connection.
1900 Cannon Census says Oskar, Jan 1899, parents Christopher Columbus Smithson and Laura Ellen LaFevers.
1910 and up plus WWI Draft lists James Adron Smithson and Nancy Elizabeth Duke.
Is the 1900 not him?
Just want to make sure I have the correct parents. Did not notice my possible error until this morning.

I would like to thank the ones that contribute to this site. Very few of Charlie Anns family members have been able to visit her resting place or seen her door. This will give them a chance to see what a lovely place I found for her.
This is a wonderful thing you are doing.
The work that you have done on the Smithson family is greatly appreciated. You have work hard & put in many hours and did a great job. Thank you for all your help!!

Thanks so much for posting the photo of Ray Thomas' stone. He is my husband's uncle. Also, I would like to thank you for setting up memorials for my GGG Grandparents George and Sarah Campbell Grizzle and his brother, Daniel at Gunter-Grizzle Cemetery in Cannon County. I have put in requests to Find-A-Grave to link another of their sons,(George W.) to them and to have two additional children linked for Isaac and Elizabeth Jones Grizzle, also at Gunter-Grizzle Cemetery. Thanks again,LWM
