My big interest is genealogy which I have been doing for 16 years and needlework. 2010 I took over 2100 cemetery photos while on vacation in Maine where my husbands relatives are buried. I am 83 years old. I look up the grave names on Ancestry and if the record dates are different than on the stone I use the record date.|

Thank you for responding. I assumed you were in Maine because you created the memorial page for George Henry but obviously I was incorrect. I am in Indiana and don't often make it to Maine. I will check about my concern with the headstone photographer. Thank you for all your efforts on behalf of FindaGrave. If I manage to uncover George Henry's parentage I may ask you to transfer the memorial page to me. However, at this point I would prefer not to be responsible for it. Thank you.

Sometime when you are near Evergreen Cemetery in Alfred, would you please double check the placement of the headstone for George Henry? You have attributed him to the Merrill family while I believe he should be a Hobbs. I say this because my father, Charles Maynard Merrill was the only child of Earle and Gladys Hobbs Merrill. If he had a brother he would have been aware of it, I would certainly think.

Hi Grace, Hope all is well. regarding the note you sent about this memorial. I have photos for both Maturin & Mary in this cemetery and non for the other. I'll keep this one in place and when When photos get posted showing burial in Kennebunk I'll delete this one. Thaks Bill P
|John W||Roscoe D. Tarbox|
I just wanted to let you know that I've been reading a very interesting travel book in which Roscoe Tarbox is mentioned in some detail. The book is Desert Encounter by a Danish Moslem named Knud Holmboe. The author traveled overland across North Africa around the year 1930, and met Tarbox and traveled with him for much of the trip. It was quite an adventure, and they both came close to dying of thirst. Tarbox comes off in the account as na´ve but plucky. I don't know for sure if it's the same person whose grave you photographed, but judging by the year of birth, I would guess it is.

So sorry, I should have followed up with what I found, which matches what you found -- Caroline's death in Kennebunk ME after 2 mos residence there (not sure why she is also in RI death records) and Alanson's death in RI. I didn't have a note to myself to add this info to Findagrave when I got it.

I didn't mean to be critical. Thank you for what you are doing. I am always looking for relatives.
Hi Grace, Didn't know if you were familiar with the EDITS SECTION of Findagrave. This is how it's done. 1.Click on SEARCH.2. On the next page that comes up, go to the left side and click on CONTRIBUTOR TOOLS.3. On the next page that comes up, go to the top and click on EDITS. 4 Go to the bottom of that page-pages and click on ACCEPT EDITS. This will automatically add the info that is highlighted to your memorials. Thank you, Paul
