I have been interested in genealogy for over 30 years. I also enjoy locating old cemeteries and documenting burials before time and the elements prevent doing so. All of my family lines go back many generations in America with my main interests being in Kentucky, Virginia, Missouri, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, the Carolinas and New England. My family and I have researched family lines on Steele, Ramsey, Taylor, Grandstaff/Grindstaff, Baker, Bowie/Buoy, High, Collier, McKenney, Prewitt, Peters, Whitehurst, Amis, Wood, Forsythe, Whitaker, Shisler, Dailey, Yardley, Irwin and Needham just to name a portion of our family tree. I am more than happy to share information, find cemeteries or assist in any way I can.|

|Minister Derek Boyd West||One of the Steele Brothers?|
Is all of Great Grandpa Georges siblings listed on here. I know a lot of them went by their middle names, but there isn't one with Lawrence as either first or last name. My grandma Mary called him uncle Lawrence, and said he was a minister. I have actually heard him on cassette tape. Is he not listed, or was that an alternate name, or was it a great uncle? I don't know the answer, and if anybody would, i would know it would be you.

I was just curious as to if you happen to have a copy of a photo of your Grandpa Andrew, that you could email me. Myfianceeisbeautiful@hotmail.com
I appreciate it. I saved your profile photo, and mms'd it to my mom and my cousin Edwin. They were both wondering if they recognized you after me telling how closely related that you are. I don't know if you ever told me before or not, but where did you grow up at?

I noticed that my Grandma Mary's oldest sister Venus was on here, but was not linked to her parents or siblings. I provided all the information for a request to get them all connected. I just thought i would let you know, and give you the memorial #117675215 I saw that you were not the creator or the maintenance person over her memorial, so i was not sure that you had seen it before or not. Venus was George and Phemas oldest Steele Child that they had together. I do not know if you knew it or not, but Great Grandma Phema was married to a Sparks, and had a son named Joseph. I found his memorial on here too, and it was not linked to his relatives, but i gave them the info, so it should be soon. I don't know if you had ever heard it or not, but Great grandmas 1st husand, stabbed her in the stomach with a knife, while she was pregnant with Joseph. That is why they divorced. I believe that my half great uncle Joseph was 2 years old when Great Grandma married Great Grandpa George. Here is his memorial number in case you haven't seen it. 36834743 Also, my great uncle Charles Monroe (Roe) Steele, that i gave you the memorial number to earlier, i created a page for his oldest daughter Lois, who died in a car accident. I am still waiting to find out her death date, and to get a picture. Her married name was Lois Coors, and her husbands name was Jeff, and they both died in a car accident. Here's their #36834743 Anyways, if i come up with any other Steeles, that i either create or find unlinked, i will fill you in on them. Take care, and enjoy your weekend.

I don't know if you ever met of heard of my grandma Mary's brother Charles Monroe Steele, who went by the nickname Roe, but i created a memorial for him, and thought i would share it with you. Here is the memorial #141812595 If i am thinking right,he would be your 2nd cousin. II'm still not the best and calculating relationships that well, but i believe i am catching on. The only children of Phema and George Green Steele that are still living is my great uncle Ben Steele, and my Great uncle Lawrence Steele. We have always called Great Uncle Lawrence, Uncle Pig. It was said that when he was a baby, back in the days when flour came in big burlap sacks, he got into a bag of flour, and was a mess, and so from there on he got the nickname Pig.

I received your message, and it answered my questions. When i was a lot younger, i always enjoyed talking to my grandparents about their childhoods and their parents and grandparents. I was quite close too all of my grandparents. Grandma was the last living grandparent that i had. She made it to 80 though, and she passed away after having 3 strokes. After the 1st one, they had her here at Connersville, Hospital for 8 weeks and they got her through therapy, and had her pretty well rehabilitated. She came home with the assistance of my aunt Carol, and the doctors told her that she was likely to have another stroke, but they didn't give any time frame on it, but she ended up only living 3 days after that. Her mind was starting to get pretty bad, and she was hard to get along with. I hadn't gotten to have anything to do with her since November 2013, when we had a disagreement, and she must have hallucinated or something, but she had herself convinced that i had tried to harm her, and so i wasn't allowed to visist her anymore. I hated not going to the Hospital when i knew they had given her a day to live, but i was afraid that because of what she thought in her mind, that if she seen me, that it may have put her under more stress and caused her to have another stroke and pass away, and because of that concern i didn't get to see her before her passing, and so it made her passing very difficult, but she was losing her independence and she wouldn't have wanted to had her life prolonged the way that it was and the state of mind that she was in. I live here in Connersville, at Fountain Place apartments, and i have a neighbor named Doris, her maiden name was Steele, and her and grandma were 1st cousins, but i don't remember what her dads name was, she just said that he was a brother to George Green. I think she is 83. She is widowed, and was married to a Hall, but i don't remember what his 1st name was.
