Hello, Barbara - I sent 4 separate requests for transfer of memorials for George, Emma, Carl, & Russell Hertzog on 13 Dec, using the 'Edit' 'Other' function of Find A Grave. The memorials are
#125997424 George G Hertzog at http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=125997282
#125997396 Emma [should be Emily] Hertzog athttp://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=125997396
#125997216 Carol Showalter Hertzog at http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=125997216
#125997424 Russell T Hertzog at http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=125997424
I just noticed that you show that contact should be via your e-mail or by leaving a message. I am fairly new to this and thought that sending the requests through the 'Other' function would generate an e-mail to you, but not sure. Did you receive those requests? Should I send them through e-mail? George G Hertzog is my 3rd great-granduncle, son of my 3rd g-grandparents Andrew and Susan Gans Hertzog; Emma [Emily] his wife; Carl and Russell the sons of George G and Emma [Emily].

|Dolores J. Rush||Question|
I ran across a video of a cemetery in Mississippi County, MO called Rush Ridge on Youtube last night, so I looked it up here. A Rachel Jane Rush Swank #30731331 husband's mother was a Thompson. I was curious to know if this could be some of your family? None of the other Rush proper names rang a bell except for this one.

Barbara I do not know who put the name Mitchell with Caroline but James H Crouch will names her Caroline Pritchet. Just wanted to pass this along.

|Sharla Cerra||James L. Rhoden|
Hello, I see you maintain the memorial of James L. Rhoden's father. I am writing to you in hopes that you may be a family member who has information about them.
James is buried in Table Rock, Nebraska. I am trying to update our list of Civil War veterans, and have indeed found some who had been overlooked. Now I am going through a list of men who were of the age where they COULD have served in the war, and James L. is one of them. I don't see any obvious matches on Fold3 or the Soldiers & Sailors websites, but I'm not a genealogist so wonder if I'm missing anything.
If you can tell me anything about James or his family, I would love to know it. My immediate motivation is updating our veterans list, but I also have our historical society's website, and I am always looking for information about our early residents so we can see them as people.
Anyway, thanks for any help you can give me!
|Gail Outhwaite||Phillips' graves|
Thank you for your interest in genealogy and posting all these graves. I have found info I didn't know through this process!!!
It is not clear that the "S" in Jonathan S. Phillips' name was. I have found NO evidence that it was Sylvester, as a daughter-in-law who was married AFTER he died claimed. I have found 2 sources neither conclusive, but reasonable, that it may have been Solomon. The first is a labeling on the back of a photo by his daughter (who was older than the daughter-in-law's husband) marking a large photo as Jonathan Solomon Phillips. The other are Masonic Lodge letters stating it to be "Solomon." The "Solomon" may have been deliberately concealed since the histories (written by the daughter-in-law) were written about the time Hitler was rising to power.
I believe in the absence of clear evidence, it may be better to leave it as S. Jonathan S. Phillips called himself "JS", John, Jonathan S. in his Civil War induction papers, on numerous land records, etc.
Thanks for your ear.
Gail P. O, a direct-line descendant of JS.
|Mark Race||James Jackson & Family - Grace Cemetery|
I too recently visited Grace Cemetery (Searight) outside of Uniontown, Pa. I Was there on August 10th, 2015 looking for Gosnell family members, three of which I have definative proof of burial at Grace Cemetery. Unfortunately, like the Jackson family memebers you are searching for, there were no markers or headstones for my family either.
Someone is taking care of the cemetery, keeping it mowed & clean of which I was thankful. But... no information or phone number was available anywhere that I could see. The old church that once stood on the property is gone & I have to assume that it has been opened at another location. This I have to research.
If you happen to find anything please let me know. If I find any records or contact information I will pass it along..
