We enjoy going to cemeteries. We are researching the names Dugan, Edwards, Jensen, Morrow, Nolen, Burnett, Wilcoxson, Bucy, Lohr/Lore and Pritchard/Prichard among others.|
If you find errors on any of our interments please e-mail us and we will be glad to fix them. Unless we are related to the individual, we will transfer any memorial if you are related, no matter how remotely.

"You are implying that Vergne is definitely a first/last name, when what type of name Vergne is isn't available"
Ah - and you have done the same by arbitrarily and capriciously filling in the last name box when you don't know that to be true. Using your logic, this memorial should be entered as:
First Name: Unknown
Last Name: Unknown

Here you go - it's in the 2nd paragraph:
What information do I include from a headstone?
Include all of the information on the headstone into the appropriate fields/dropdown menus in the memorial form. It is not sufficient to create a memorial with only a name and a headstone photo. Of course, if the headstone only has a name, then you cannot add information you do not have. However, if the information is on the stone, enter the information into the form.
If a headstone is not readable at all and you have plot information and a photo for the marker, please add the memorial as first name Unknown, last name Unknown. This is the standard. Please do not use other terms unless they identify the person for example Child, Twin, Infant, Adult, Male, Female, First name, Last Name.
“Add marker transcription” is to be used for words, phrases, or sentences that are found on the headstone, other than the person’s name or birth and death dates. Examples of these would be “Loving mother”, “Here my love lies”, Served in Company 212, etc. When adding to this field, please use standard text, as in the prior examples.

Thank you for the photos of my great grandparents headstones...
Levi H Pierce and Electa Ingalls Pierce
If you happen upon Electa's father, Stephen Ingalls. please let me know.. I do not know where he and his wife Sarah Miller are buried. Family records don't say and I have searched the internet but come up with nothing.
Stephen Ingalls was the first Sheriff in Cooperstown and He was a revolutionary war patriot. I suspect he is buried at Lakewood because a few of his children are buried there.. but Lakewood Cemetery records don't go back that far. and when I checked a few months ago the records were all off site being digitized. so currently there is no master list for Lakewood.. only recent burials. i wish I lived close enough to walk Lakewood Cemetery but I am across the country.
May I have permission to use the photos with credit to you for my D.A.R. application?
Her grave is unmarked. I posted a photo of the grave and put a comment on the photo. Respectfully yours, James
I picked this one when I saw it was you requesting the photo. It is an old request. I wanted to give back to you folks for all you do.
|Linda Church||Memorial # 13839439 Hannah Church Mather|
I wondered if you had a picture for Hannah Church Mather's memorial. The photo that you entered on Hannah's memorial is for Hulda Mather wife of Phineas Mather.
