Bio and Links
Bio Photo I was born August 29, 1943 in Powell, Wyoming. I joined the US Navy in 1963 and spent 2 years in Southeast Asia in the Philippines and Vietnam. I then attended the U of Colorado for a year and a half under the NESEP program and was then transfered to Europe for 4 years, stationed at Rota, Spain. After that I was sent to Washington D.C. for 4 years. At that time I retired and attended Central State University in Edmond, Oklahoma, where I attained a BS in Mortuary Science. I owned and operated two funeral homes, one in Moline, Kansas, and the other in Sedan, Kansas, for 26 years. I retired from the business in 2001. I am currently residing in Wichita, Kansas, and am an accountant for Wal Mart Corp.

I am married, the father of two daughters. I have traced my ancestry back several centuries and am still in the process of chasing down my brickwalls.

As a former funeral director, I find cemeteries fascinating and love to contemplate past lives and histories of the families there.

I am more than happy to make corrections and add relationship links but am curtailing (not stopping) transferring memorials due to growing misunderstanding of what Find A Grave is about by those discovering the site for the first time. The time members have put into their efforts working together and sharing information is not up for grabs based on same-name surname or lineage and I will not do any of these type of transfers.

Random thought - I have information from various families regarding their daughter Helen. I have the name of her husband, and an online death certificate for her.

Family member say she was cremated and her ashes scattered on the High farm east of Derby.

Should I add a Memorial for her in the El Paso Cemetery ?

Delma Burdick
Hello Del

I fulfilled your request today for Delma. Unfortunately, she is buried without a stone. She is buried next to her husband John Burdick, who is on her right. I took a picture of her plot, with yellow flowers I placed where her stone would have been. It also shows the partial stone of her husband in the picture.

I hope this is acceptable to you.

If I can do anything else for you , please let me know.

Hi Del,

I'd like your permission to use your headstone photos in my Ancestry family tree. I always cite/source the original photographer.

Thanks so much!

Augusta Wehner Williams
Augusta Wehner Williams was the sister of William G. Wehner (1847-1928). I am WGW's biographer, and seek contact with the Wehner family historian.//I am writing the first book from the American point of view about 19th century rotunda panoramas. These were the biggest paintings in the world, 50 x 400=20,000 square feet, housed in their own rotundas which were 16-sided polygons. Chicago in 1893 had 6 panorama companies and 6 panorama rotundas. William Wehner of Chicago built his panorama studio in downtown Milwaukee. From 1885-88 he produced 2 units of BATTLE OF ATLANTA, 2 units of BATTLE OF MISSIONARY RIDGE & LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, and 3 units of JERUSALEM ON THE DAY OF THE CRUCIFIXION. My great aunt, Mathilde Georgine Schley (1864-1941) was an artist-model in the Wehner studio. On September 18,2003 I found in the display case of Milwaukee County Historical Society the F.W.Heine diaries 1879-1921. These highly illustrated diaries are the only narrative of a panorama company, that of William Wehner. The diaries needed to be transcribed in German, translated to English, scanned to computer. Michael Kutzer, born Leipzig 1942 like Heine, is transcriber on the Heine diary project. The Bradley Foundation of Milwaukee provided a generous initial grant for the Heine Diaries to be transcribed to German. Also, some 300+ glass plate negatives by panorama artist Bernhard Schneider (1843-1907) were found in an old house in Cedarburg,Wisconsin, which document Wehner's panorama company.MUCH INFO TO SHARE.Gene Meier,1160 Bailey Road, Sycamore, Illinois 60178
