|I encountered Find A Grave years ago while surfing the net one day on some Hollywood greats, when I came across Clark Gable's memorial. Getting interested in the photos featured, I started browsing names and there they were: Fernandel, David Niven, Rita Hayworth...I was impressed to see such a keen index of so many deceased persons, even though at that time it amounted to only a couple of thousands!|
Although I kept visiting the site from time to time, I did not join in immediately as a member. When I did, I used to leave a couple of messages, but creating memorials seemed a bit difficult. The first one came following the death of my Great Aunt, Sr. Teresa Orlando rscj., in 2002.
Eventually, FAG became for me a special point of reference. It did take me quite a time to collect all the information posted here, especially when it relates all the biographies featured. Naturally, in order to be able to present here all these profiles and photos, I have been in touch across the years, with several dioceses, provinces, and archive collections from all over the world. Naming all the sources is virtually impossible, but I have to mention Mr. Salvador Miranda, creator of "The Cardinals of the Holy Roman Church" Digital Resource.
Researchers might find a number of interesting profiles in my entries, including a full Necrology of all the late members of the Mid-West Augustinian Province and the Western Dominican Province, which I added across the years thanks to the great support and help received from Brother Thomas Taylor OSA., and the late Father Fabian Stan Parmisano OP., (1926 - 2009). Other entries include all the Dominican Friars interred at Rosaryville, Ponchatoula, Louisiana. These Friars belonged to the Midwestern Dominican Province of the USA. Most of the Dominican Friars affiliated with this Province buried at All Saints Cemetery in Des Plaines, Illinois, can be also found in another Virtual Cemetery of mine.
I always try to remember people who in their humbleness worked and took care of many, in silence, for whom history has left little or no space. Hoping you might find some of the memorials to your interest, I wish above all, that they might be also appreciated by others or remembered in prayers.

YHou're welcome! I had a friend who was able to get it for me. It is not usually open to the public. I have several more to add to F A G for that location.

Jeremiah Burmeister was my brother-in-law. His DOB (not listed in his entry #77888851) was 03/11/1952. Jeremiah was an assumed name. His real name was Gary.

You are most welcome. While visiting the cemetery I was told that there is a lot of work being done by raising the plaques/headstones out of the ground, which will make them all look a lot better being set into concrete. Not sure how long this will take....

Hi I recently filled a request for you for Stehle in St. Vincent Cemetery in Latrobe Pa. I have a question I am hoping you can answer. Is there a way to find out the name that would have been used on a death certificate for the REv. Fr. & Br. tombstones that only have one name? I would like the memorials to be as complete as I can Make them. Here are a couple examples. Brother Dominicus 1848-1918 Brother Eugen 1858-1918. If they died in Pennsylvania they have a death certificate but what or how would it have been listed? There are many others like this. Also some who died before mandatory registration like Fr. Rel. Ignatius 1873-1897 Any help would be greatly appreciated. My email is on my find a grave profile. thank you
|Anonymous||Father 'Goldie" Moir|
hi please contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org
we can confirm some of the details of his life...
|Anonymous||Father 'Goldie" Moir|
Father Moir was my grand uncle. I contacted the paulist fathers before I found this site which is wonderful by the way.
They told me that the seminary Father Moir entered into was located in Chicago. ( 911 S. Wabash Ave) I have copy of his entry card in Detroit on Sept. 1928. I noticed however that you have Father Moir ordained in Toronto on 02 June 1928.
Also info has him in Mississippi in Sept 1930..am wondering if he just spent a few months in each place and not years. Do you know?
Father Moir's burial is also interesting because he was 1st buried on the grounds in the 59th street new York location BUT that part of the property was sold by the Paulists and his grave along with other were reburied in new jersey. Am so looking forward to hearing from you and thank you again. M

I found his name on this link. The page comes up as Malta Family History, list of burials in Ta'Braxia Cemetery 1875 to 2000 and a picture of John Loughborough Pearson and a picture of a Chapel. This is followed by an alphabetical list, I scrolled down to E and found Charles EFFEMY. I have looked at the English Naval Burials also on this web site but strangely his name does not appear there.
